"OUTCRY" is alive and well on Amazon
As everyone knows, we only get one chance to make a first impression. As such, after encountering a few snags during the publishing process, we hit the pause button for three weeks and focused on making sure that OUTCRY  was as perfect as it could possibly be before most people would see the book for the first time.

We are now ready to make that  first impression.

Why is Outcry special? We know of no other book that
leverages "big picture"  environmental data and scientific conclusions to  make the case for the necessity of re-inventing the way we live on this planet. Further, Outcry provides a realistic vision of how an attractive, fully-sustainable  successor civilization might actually look.

(9 of the 11 scientists featured in Chapter Four)

To be clear, we are not so naïve  as to think that our envisioned civilization of the future will actually become a reality as we have described it. We just know that our current way of living will lead to our ultimate demise if we don't get serious about replacing it in the near future.

Why is there no conversation? By definition, actively addressing the less-than-rosy prospects for our longterm survival is the most crucial action needed in the history of humanity. To be sure, the entire world should be talking non-stop about this topic - but I know of very few people who are.

To promote that much-needed conversation, Outcry was written for people of all ages and education levels: from high-schoolers on up. As for the young folks, it features one chapter about the world's most famous teenager. It is entitled How Dare You! A message from Greta.

The theme of Outcry: World-renowned filmmaker and environmentalist, James Cameron, poses a timely, yet terrifying, question on the front cover below. It is that question about our future as a species that we strive to answer in fifteen provocative chapters.
Good News! The updated e-book became available today. If you already have copies on your electronic devices, all of the replacement content will be automatically "pushed" out soon to those devices for free.

The Bottom Line.  The ever-escalating  outcries  from nature reinforce the fact that we are running out of time to get any serious traction when it comes to slowing climate change enough to save ourselves. As such, we must urgently begin planning, designing, building and populating a completely new, successor civilization.

But there's a one big problem that we must overcome - the mistaken belief that we can put humanity back on a truly sustainable path without radically changing our overall way living.

Michael Moore's recent movie, Planet of the Humans, revealed this grim fact from a sustainability standpoint; saying "Despite our best intentions, what we're doing now is simply not working." The controversial film does a great job of demonstrating that simply changing from fossil fuels to renewables will not get the job done.

Moore and his team explain on Rising in this 17-minute video  that we must change our entire way of life, but they offer no clues as to how that new way of life might look - or how we're going to get there.

Our book picks up where Moore's film leaves off. We are striving to help spark the global conversation about how we might totally replace our harmful and wasteful way of living with one that is far greener, and infinitely more sustainable - than the never-ending growth model (in a finite world) that defines how we are living today.

Our first 5-Star Amazon Review
(from Margrit Wakefield in Kansas City, MO)

This is an invaluable resource for the coming years as we will try to mitigate the effects of global warming as well as adopt the necessary drastic, systemic changes in our life styles.

Clearly written, organized and referenced, the online publication makes it possible to carry with you a vast library of interrelated links, articles, interviews, graphs, images etc. and a roadmap to a new way of life that you will want to start on immediately. Have fun - and a sense of hope - on the journey!

E-books are far greener.  With e-books, no trees have to die and the books do not need to be manufactured and shipped to customers. As a bonus, our e-book is not only less expensive, but it also provides readers with immediate access to hundreds of references and videos via hyperlinks that appear within the text.

The books are also searchable and you can copy and paste excerpts - greatly enhancing the reading experience. And, with e-books on all of your devices, you can always have something meaningful to read - even in the dark.

For us, our "e-book only" decision was a no brainer, as we would feel like hypocrites if we had chosen to distribute this book - that is all about sustainability - in any other format.  Finally, if you have three electronic devices, you essentially get three copies for the price of one.

PS: You may be wondering how you can help promote the never-ending search for a way to save our species. You can get me in front of some audiences, including virtual, that you think might be ready to hear about the long-overdue, global "conversation" about our survival.

You can join my mailing list and/or find all of my previous postings by visiting the SOS Memos page on my website Here are a few of them:

As always, I am just trying to spark a global conversation about what is needed. By sharing a vision of what I believe is possible, I hope to influence others to think bigger, better and bolder.

********************

As for speaking, I continue to search for mainstream audiences who may have an interest in learning more about a realistically hopeful vision for our future - and their role in making that vision come true. During the pandemic, let me know if you'd like to set up a Zoom virtual talk with your group.

In the months ahead, I will continue to focus on the urgent need for a totally reinvented greening of our civilization - beginning with a model in the USA that could be applied globally over the next fifty years.

Upcoming talks : There are lots of open dates on my calendar as my next scheduled talk is  at Camp Plant-Stock in Black Mountain, NC, in August, although it may turn out to be virtual.

As for the specifics of my topic, I invite you to  contact me directly  about how I might tailor my presentation to best suit an audience you may have in mind:

Universities,  churches,  think-tanks, legislative bodies, environmental  organizations, alumni associations, leadership clubs, PTA's  and/or civic groups who may appreciate a message of reality and hope for our future.

Please let me hear from you directly regarding any ideas or questions you may have.

What else can you do to help? Three things:

1. Live as greenly as possible while doing all that you can to raise the awareness of "big picture" solutions that are crucially necessary for saving our civilization.

2. Share this BSB and my  "Mama Ain't Happy" BSB with prominent journalists, thought leaders and/or elected officials whom you respect. They need to learn a lot more about the many reasons why  Mama ain't happy.

3. Here are a few more GRATOLA-related blogs that you can share with your most powerful friends, leaders, journalists and movie producers.

Until next time, just remember...

Humanity is on a collision course with Nature.
A damaged Nature will survive. We may not.
We must change course to avert an ecological disaster.
