White Plains Launches COVID Angels Project
To Help Seniors Get Vaccinated
The City of White Plains is launching a COVID Angels Volunteer Project to assist White Plains seniors with navigating the technology needed to obtain a vaccine appointment.

Volunteers with various skill sets are needed and welcome! We will need volunteers to be team leaders, work on data collection, book appointments online, and make calls.

Appointments can be booked online 24 hours/day, which lends itself to flexibility for all who want to help. People can volunteer whatever time they may have to give. The planning process is well underway to give White Plains seniors assistance obtaining the protection they need to combat this aggressive virus.

To volunteer for this great community project, email wpangels@whiteplainsny.gov.

If you are a White Plains senior in need of assistance securing a vaccination appointment, please call (914) 422-1378.

Here's what you need to know:

1. Participation is free and easy.

2. Residents can drop off food scraps at the Gedney Recycling Yard, 87 Gedney Way, Monday through Saturday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm and Sunday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm.

3. Accepted Food Scraps include: grains, pasta, dairy, fruit, veggies, stems, peels, meat, bones, egg shells, coffee grounds & filters, tea bags, napkins, BPI-certified compostable bags.
