Restricted Funds are like a RED SOCK IN THE WASH
|
|
Using “restricted funds” to pay for any expenses for an event will cause the entire event to be declared “Restricted” – all revenue from that event regardless of the source should now be classified as “Restricted Funds”. You’ll hear Erin and Brent talk about the “red sock in the wash”.
To prevent this, please ask Erin Schultz to create an Activity Code to tag revenue and expenses associated with the event. This helps protect SCORE from “comingling of funds”.
General donations or sponsorships to support workshops or events being counted in “Total Local Services” are also “Restricted Funds”. Please let Shawn Little know if this is the case when reporting the deposit to deposit@score.org.

Small Businesses Strengthen Communities. This year, during the continuing national health crisis, small businesses needed help more than ever before.
The SCORE Foundation provided funding for SCORE’s Small Business Resilience program to support these business owners when they need us most. Contribution to the SCORE Foundation will help us continue to be there for the business owners who depend on us. Every dollar will be used to create valuable and timely resources that small business owners need to navigate the significant challenges they’re facing and keep their doors open.
To help get the word out about the amazing contributions SCORE volunteers make and assist fundraising efforts during this Season of Giving locally, SCORE has a marketing toolkit for use here.
We thank you for your support in the many ways you contribute to the success of SCORE and small businesses!
