A Message from Mayor Susan Shin Angulo
Dear Neighbor:

I am proud to announce that Cherry Hill Township has rolled out a new, streamlined web address. CHNJ.gov is now live and making it simpler than ever to access township services, contact municipal departments, and find information online.

We chose to make the switch in the wake of new bipartisan federal legislation passed late last year that makes it easier for local governments to register a .gov domain address. The move helps to boost the Township’s cyber security efforts since .gov is a trusted top level domain and includes more security features than commercial web domains. With the shorter, .gov address, we are able to both bolster Cherry Hill’s presence online and reinforce trust in online communications with the Township.

While the Township’s first URL, CherryHill-NJ.com, will still redirect to the township’s homepage on an ongoing basis, we recommend users update any bookmarks to specific webpages on the site. All township employee email addresses will also switch over to using the new domain as well, but all emails sent to old addresses will also be redirected to the new domain for the foreseeable future.

With this added layer of security you can have a greater peace of mind when interacting with us online. The change also represents another important step forward in our continued efforts to embrace innovation and further improve transparency and accessibility.

Please have a safe and Happy 4th of July!
Sincerely,
Susan Shin Angulo
Mayor

Firework Safety for the Holiday Weekend
fireworks3.jpg
In June of 2017, a law was signed allowing certain types of fireworks to be sold in New Jersey. This 4th of July, local fire inspectors are concerned about overall safety.

Above all, the best way to enjoy fireworks is by watching a local professional firework display to avoid any injuries or burns. If you do choose to buy consumer fireworks, we recommend the following safety guidelines:

  • Do not allow children to play with fireworks
  • Do not try to make your own fireworks
  • Do not throw or point fireworks at someone
  • Do not hold fireworks in your hand or stand over them while lighting
  • Do not try to relight a dud firework
  • Be safe this Fourth of July holiday!
