Jesus Appears to His Disciples

36 While they were talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” 37 They were startled and terrified, and thought that they were seeing a ghost. 38 He said to them, “Why are you frightened, and why do doubts arise in your hearts? 39 Look at my hands and my feet; see that it is I myself. Touch me and see; for a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.” 40 And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet. 41 While in their joy they were disbelieving and still wondering, he said to them, “Have you anything here to eat?” 42 They gave him a piece of broiled fish, 43 and he took it and ate in their presence. 44 Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you—that everything written about me in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms must be fulfilled.” 45 Then he opened their minds to understand the scriptures, 46 and he said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Messiah is to suffer and to rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and that repentance and forgiveness of sins is to be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things.
Children's Moment
Parents, read over the lesson below and use it to stir conversation as a family!
Have you ever wondered if something you were told is true? Asking questions helps you find answers. Asking questions about Jesus and Bible stories helps you be a better follower of Jesus.

In our scripture today, Jesus appeared to His disciples after He had died on the cross. At first they were scared and had questions. Was it really Him? How could it be possible? Jesus spoke to them and helped them to understand that everything He had told them previously and everything written in scripture was coming true! He was not dead, but had risen and was alive in Heaven!

What questions do you have about Jesus?

If you could see Jesus, what would you want to ask Him?

Prayer
Dear Jesus, Thank you for all that you do for me. I cannot see you but I know you are there. Amen.

A look back at Holy Week and Easter!

Holy Week and Easter was full of wonderful opportunities to reflect, grow, fellowship and give! Our church grounds were full of life and joy. With your help we had a successful blood drive with 19 donors, 5 of which were first timers! In addition, we raised $1055 for the Facilities Fund, $895 for One Great Hour of Sharing, welcomed church members and many guests to our Stations of the Cross event, offered communion and successfully, came together for our first in-person worship service in over a year! What a wonderful week and Easter it was! Thank you to the many volunteers who helped to make the week so meaningful!
