ICS is pleased to release Pay for Success Financing for Child Care: Challenges and Opportunities.  From the introduction to the brief:

It seems that wherever you turn people are talking about Pay for Success (PFS) financing as a new way to increase funding, through private sector investment partners, for services that address important social challenges. Under Pay for Success financing, government funding is transformed from payment for services to payment for outcomes. Thus, preparing for PFS financing can help organizations build capacity for outcomes-based, data driven management. In this policy brief, we explore whether PFS financing could be used to supplement (not replace) core government funding for child care for infants and toddlers, in order to increase access to and the quality of this vital service.

The Institute for Child Success and Ferebee Lane are pleased to release Small Steps (available here), which premiered on November 11 in Greenville, SC. This short documentary film explores the experiences of young mothers with young children and opportunities for design.  The next showing of the film will be held in New York at Fordham Law School on February 12, co-sponsored by the the Urban Law Center at Fordham, and Thicket. The film was co-produced by ICS and Ferebee Lane, with funding support from Greenville First Steps.

Caitlin Mauk joined ICS as our new Administrative Assistant in October of 2014. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Sociology from Boston University in 2013. Prior to joining ICS, Caitlin worked as an Online Organizer for the Progressive Change Campaign Committee and as a Campus Organizer for a US Senate campaign.  While an undergraduate at BU, Caitlin also interned at UK's Parliament and the US Senate.
 

Christina Vazquez joined ICS as our new Grants Administrator in November 2014.  She previously worked for Dignity Health as the Contracts Manager for the Hope Street Family Center in Los Angeles, California and as a System Administrator for Dignity Health's Corporate office in Pasadena, California.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Family & Consumer Sciences from the University of Georgia.
