About the workshop:
Rookery Bay Research Reserve's Coastal Training Program is pleased to host an Urban Lakes and Ponds online workshop presented by Naples Botanical Garden and Collier County Pollution Control. At the workshop, participants will receive important information about the purpose and function of stormwater ponds, how to identify pond problems, and learn more about aquatic plants that can provide a habitat for wading birds and fish in addition to increasing the health of your lakes and ponds.
Workshop will include information about:
  • Nonpoint source pollution and how it affects lakes and ponds
  • Various stormwater management features and proper pond maintenance
  • Expanding your shoreline plant palette with a focus on native plants
  • Become familiar with the Naples Botanical Garden stormwater system

Held in an online Zoom format, the workshop consists of a combination of presentations, interactive learning, and a virtual stormwater system tour from the Naples Botanical Garden.
