Each day will begin with morning classroom meetings, followed by asynchronous work prepared by the teams. Please check classroom newsletters for more details.

Change to Meal distributions Days – Information and FAQ:

Starting Wednesday, February 3, meals will be distributed on Wednesdays and Fridays. Pick up times will stay the same from 11:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Middle School locations (Redmond MS, Inglewood MS, Timberline MS, Rose Hill MS, Finn Hill MS, Kamiakin MS). Pickup times will remain the same for the delivery locations with the exception of Rush and Mead (see website for details: https://www.lwsd.org/pathway-forward/grab-go-student-meals

Why are we changing the meal distribution days?
Meal distribution days were changed proactively to ensure that all students will continue to have access to 7 free lunches and breakfasts each week as we transition to in person learning.  Keeping distribution on Tuesday would mean that students with in-person classes on Tuesday and/or Friday would not be able to pick up meal packs for the full week.  Changing the distribution day to Wednesday will allow K-1 students to receive a 3-day meal pack (for Wednesday and the weekend) and hybrid students to receive a 5-day meal pack (3 days of remote learning and 2 days for the weekend). Fully remote learners can pick up a 5-day meal pack on Wednesday and a 2-day meal pack on Friday.

How will each learning model receive a full week of meals?
K-1 In Person: Take home meals (4 days - M,T,TH,F)
Pick up 3-day meal pack on Wednesday

Hybrid Take home meals for in-person days (2 days/week)
(remote/in person) Pick up 5-day meal pack on Wednesday

Full Remote/Other Pick up 5-day meal pack on Wednesday
Pick up 2-day meal pack on Friday

Will families still need to Preorder meals?
Families still need to preorder meals on the LWSD website for the grab and go meals that are picked up on Wednesday and Friday. https://www.lwsd.org/pathway-forward/grab-go-student-meals. Families will not need to pre-order for in-person days.
Parent Night Recording: Anxiety in Children
Many children feel worried or fearful at times, and it is natural for everyone to experience some levels of anxiety, especially during these uncertain times. Some level of anxiety can even be productive and helpful to our performance. But too often anxiety levels can soar and cause children and adults to feel incapacitated and overwhelmed. At the “Anxiety in Children” parent night, we learned about the characteristics of anxiety and suggested strategies to help children cope with anxiety. If you attended or viewed the Emotion Management parent night, this event will provide new information and strategies directly related to addressing anxiety. You can access full recordings of both parent nights on Mrs. Bauer’s website (scroll to the bottom of the page): https://rockwell.lwsd.org/academics/counseling
