Hello everyone and there is excitement in the air (along with a bit of concern) as we make plans to return to Mass together in the Church. A lot of planning has gone into all that we must have in place as we re-open, and I am so grateful to the many who have stepped forward to facilitate our prayer together. First of all, you have to see this photo of our termite team on the “stairway to heaven” while doing extensive termite treatment on May 26th. Thank God they got down safely.
Some Highlights for our Return
All registered parishioners will be getting an informative brochure in the mail by Monday, June 8 that gives some details about our coming back to Mass. Some of the highlights from that brochure are:
  • Weekend Masses begin on Saturday-Sunday, June 13-14 at the regular times.
  • Daily Mass begins on Monday, June 15 at the regular time.
  • Seating will be limited to 100 people at each Mass. You must register for a seat by doing this:  Beginning Monday, June 8 at 9am, please visit www.st-timsrc.org/reservations to sign up; if you have difficulty doing this, please call the parish office 949-249-4091 and we will help you.
  • Everyone over the age of 2 must wear a mask during Mass.
  • Everyone will be ushered to a seat before Mass begins.
  • The Church will be disinfected following each Mass.

Also, very importantly: A number of parishioners have told me that they are not comfortable with coming to Mass right away.  Please remember: our Bishop has given a dispensation from the obligation of attendance at Mass for those who, because of age or illness, choose not to come. We will continue to record and show our Masses on the parish website for a good long time to come. We are working toward the “livestream” capability so we can show Mass as it is being celebrated.

CONFESSIONS: We have resumed our regular Confession schedule of 3:30-4:30pm on Saturday afternoons and 5:00-6:00pm on Tuesday evenings. Father Joseph and I will be outside in the courtyard for Confessions; please wear a mask; we will keep the social distancing; and we will ensure the confidentiality that is so necessary for this Sacrament.

Slowly but surely, carefully and creatively, the People of God are on the journey home to Church.
