Greetings Tougaloo College Community!
The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is rapidly changing and we are committed to protecting our campus community. We pray that you, your family and friends remain safe as we do our collective due diligence in social distancing in an effort to prevent further spread of this virus.

As we remain focused on the health and well-being of our students, faculty and staff, the goal of this communication is to provide you, as our constituents, with updated information and to ensure you that the work of Tougaloo College continues.

Tougaloo is operating in a partially online environment and we are proud of our campus community for the accomplishments that are being made during this pandemic.

  • During the first week of remote instruction, over 85% of our students are engaged in an online learning environment.
  • With the support of Academic Affairs, we are supporting faculty with ongoing professional development, with one-on-one and group sessions to facilitate various online teaching modalities and linking them with external resources and support groups such as the online learning collectives through Facebook.
  • In Enrollment, our recruiters are working diligently with alumni chapters and the Board of Trustees to reach out to over 1,500 prospective students who have been accepted to the College. Our alumni and trustees are also assisting with updating and processing over 1,300 incomplete applications.
  • We are continuing our ongoing development and fundraising efforts, in addition to collecting dollars for our Student Emergency Fund, which assists needs such as emergency travel and remote learning technology resources.
  • Alumni are engaged and giving to their respective reunion classes and chapters.
  • We are strategically working with our corporation and foundation partners and submitting grant proposals to expand our academic and educational capacity.

We are committed to our students reaching their academic goals by creating and sustaining pathways to success that they need and deserve. It is our aim to keep everyone informed regarding the College’s progress during this uncertain and changing pandemic. For more information on Coronavirus (COVID-19) updates and resources, please visit the Tougaloo College website
