Dear SMCS Families,

I hope you are safe and warm. We have had quite a week with winter weather, power outages, and water shortages. TEA announced yesterday that we will not have to make up the days that we missed this week.

I am closely monitoring the water shortage and the boil water order for the city of Houston. The school is part of the boil water order. My hope is to be able to have students return to school on Monday for in-person learning. Depending on when the boil water order is lifted, the water dispensers at the school may or may not be available for students. We will send something out on Sunday morning with more information about the water situation and school for Monday.

Please continue to take care of yourselves and your family.  You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Blessings,
Dr. Kathleen Cox

Friendly Reminders
  • Second carpool cars should not enter the school parking lot until after first carpool is over. Lining up sooner than this makes first carpool more difficult/dangerous. Cars who arrive early will be asked to exit the parking lot until first carpool has ended.
  • Please do not block any driveways, entrances, or exits during morning or afternoon carpool.
  • Please pay attention to traffic while you are waiting in line and be courteous to drivers who need to get through during carpool.
