π Student Tech Fairs Are Back! π
Student tech fairs have been a staple for years as one of many ways that ITEC has supported technology use in the classroom. During the past year, ITEC has been working behind the scenes to revisit and improve the Student Tech Fair experience for students and sponsors.
β Please donβt let this opportunity pass your students by! Register by December 17! (NOTE: If registering multiple student projects, please use this multiple projects registration link)!
Tip / Strategy To Try Out
Checkout our "Shortcuts to Awesomeness!" A new shortcut will be released each weekday of December. Take a look at the shortcuts that have been released so far!
We realize the AEAs have listservs for their constituents. ITEC believes that it would also be beneficial to have access to a statewide group. To help connect our members, we have created three groups:
Technology Directors
Technology Integrationists
Instructional Coaches
If you wish to join one, two or all three of these lists, send an email to Lance Lennon with your name, email and list(s) you want to join.
Years Served: Has been at Belle Plaine (her hometown) for 21 years; also taught in the Twin Cities for seven years
Favorite Tech Moment: Watching the excitement of the faces when kids get their program or project to work and the excitement and engagement kids have when using technology.
Favorite Quote (or tip for other educators): Go forward with courage, into learning that is new! Your students will be forever grateful!
Colleague Comments:"Gina has done many things over the years to implement opportunities for students to use technology in all of her classes. She often collaborates with other teachers in our building to create project based activities that give students access to tech tools, devices and programs. In previous years, Gina has collaborated with other districts to create a robotics competition between our 4th grade students and students from other districts. She is constantly learning more about how to incorporate technology and STEAM activities into her art and TAG groups."
Know a colleague who deserves some recognition for the incredible work they are doing to support students and staff with technology in a digital learning environment? Consider giving that colleague a "Shout Out!" and help ITEC recognize rockstar Iowa educators!
