Oakville's Recovery Framework: a roadmap to reopening and recovery
Town takes measured approach to reopen town services and programs

As we continue to respond to the impacts of COVID-19, we're working proactively to assess what services can safely resume and when, and what new protocols need to be in place as we adjust to our "new normal".

Mayor Rob Burton shared the COVID-19 Recovery Program, Strategy and Framework at the May 25, 2020, Council meeting

The framework aligns with the province's phased-in plans for recovery.

"This framework will help us navigate how Oakville moves forward and recovers from the impacts of COVID-19 in a way that is safe and efficient," said Mayor Rob Burton.

"Work is underway and staff teams are already engaged in recovery planning to ensure the town is prepared to restore services and respond to community needs as we move beyond the crisis stage while maintaining the health and safety of our staff and our community."

Supporting small business

Town Council and Oakville's Economic Task Force are working proactively to identify opportunities to support small businesses and restaurants.

Converting available outdoor space to allow customers to shop or dine, while following proper physical distancing, will restore confidence in in-person shopping and dining when the provincial order allows restaurants to restore their full services.

We will continue to do everything we can to support our local restaurants and small businesses.

Planning underway for modified summer programs

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, all previously scheduled Recreation and Culture programming, including summer camps for July and August, are cancelled.

Subject to provincial approval to proceed, the town is considering opportunities to offer a modified 2020 summer program that will align with any new provincial and regional public health and safety guidelines.

Refunds will be automatically processed by the town. New program registration details will be announced as soon as the province removes restrictions and facilities can safely reopen.
