Hello Everyone!

These are crazy and uncertain times, and I truly appreciate the outpouring of supportive emails and your kind social media posts.  We won't be seeing you for a while, but we are in this together.  

My job is usually to encourage you to come out of your homes and see films on the big screen - with good sound, a crisp picture and a sense of community.  But for now, we need to take Dorothy's advice and appreciate that there's "No Place Like Home." 

Even though our doors are closed for the time being, we want to continue bringing great cinema to you.  Now you can still support us by watching one of our award-winning offerings at home -  SAINT FRANCES...and it won't be available on other platforms for quite a while.  When you pay $10.50 for a 48-Hour Link to the film, you'll actually be helping THE NEON at the same time...and critics are calling SAINT FRANCES "Courageous," "Powerful," and "Jarringly funny." It's currently rated "98% Fresh" on Rottentomatoes.com!    This is an experiment.  If it goes well, we'll look to work with other distributors who might be willing to work with us.

Synopsis for SAINT FRANCES : "Flailing thirty-four-year-old Bridget (Kelly O'Sullivan) finally catches a break when she meets a nice guy and lands a much-needed job nannying six-year-old Frances (played by a scene-stealing Ramona Edith-Williams). But an unwanted pregnancy introduces an unexpected complication. To make matters worse, she clashes with the obstinate Frances and struggles to navigate a growing tension between Frances's moms. If you purchased on-line tickets to MISS FISHER AND THE CRYPT OF TEARS, MOONDANCE, LUNAFEST or THE LIBRARY THAT DOLLY BUILT, we have already  automatically refunded your credit card (please give it a few days to show up on your statement).  If you purchased a ticket in person for any of these shows, you can bring your green & white ticket to our box office today or when we reopen (date TBD) in order to get your refund.  (If neither of these options work and you need to make special arrangements for a refund, we can make that happen - just email me at [email protected])

Over the past week, many have reached out and asked how you can help during our time of closure.  Because we are now a non-profit, your gifts are tax deductible. If you'd like to make a donation to THE NEON, we'll certainly put it to good use - just mail a check to THE NEON, 130 E 5th St., Dayton, OH  45402.  We'll make sure you get a receipt for your records.
