Dear members,

The Maine Dental Association (MDA) is urging all members to donate personal protective equipment (PPE) to hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, or first responders in your local areas.

There is a critical shortage of these items. The health and safety of our healthcare providers, patients and the public is at risk. Let's all do our part!

The following items are most needed:
  • Masks (N95 and Masks in general)
  • Gloves
  • Eye protection gear
  • Gowns
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Bleach wipes/ Disinfecting wipes

The MDA has been in touch with the Maine Hospital Association and the Maine Primary Care Association. We are encouraging members to donate PPE that you can spare (keeping a supply that you need for emergencies in your office and for when you reopen). We recommend that you contact your local hospitals, nursing homes, Federally Qualified Health Centers, or first responders to coordinate drop offs. The MDA is available to help if you need assistance and we have volunteers willing to drive and collect PPE.

We are also tracking donations. Let us know if you're donating supplies and where they are going by completing this short survey.

Please call the MDA office at 207-622-7900 if you have questions or need assistance with coordinating donations.

Thank you,
