The Village’s burn requirements can be found here, which include:

  • Verify if the location is already approved for a Village of Long Grove IEPA Burn Permit on the master list.
  • If the site is not listed, you should submit a request form to be added to the list.
  • Call your fire protection district to inform them of plans to open burn: for CFPD, call 847-367-5511; for LGFPD, call 847-634-3143, extension 2520.

Information on conducting a safe and productive open burn has been provided by Prairie Nursery in Westfield, WI, and can be found here.
Collection Box for Clothing Donations
The Village recently partnered with SWALCO to provide a new clothing and textile collection bin, which is located in the southwest corner of the Archer Municipal Parking Lot near the fire station. The bin is accessible 24 hours a day to accept donations of new and gently used clothing and household textiles. Click here for a list of accepted and non-accepted items; please confirm any items you plan to donate are accepted. Shoes, cushions or pillows are among items that cannot be accepted. Donations can be placed directly in the box, or next to it in sealed plastic bags. Nearly 95% of the materials collected in these bins are repurposed, reused or recycled.
