Dear Friends,
Last week I heard from several universities, and museums postponing their Centennial events until the Summer or Fall due to the Coronavirus. Although I am disappointed, I certainly understand that the safety of everyone is now our main concern.
So, I thought I would send the email below since someone told me "great art is great therapy and your mother's choice of color and movement convey a spirit of optimism and levity that people enjoy."
Another person said "when you saw a Dorothy Gillespie you saw unique, you saw passion, and it was consistent there was no deviating from it and one was more successful than the other, it brought joy and that to me is the definition of an artist."
Over the next couple of months, I will share photos of my mother's art in collectors' homes, hospitals, museums, galleries, universities and in public places.
Regards,
Gary
