A Message from Principal Dumar

Hello Bradfield Families!
We are excited to begin a new school year in just a few short days. Bradfield staff members have been eagerly working together for the return of our precious Broncos. Bulletin boards are taking shape, first week student activities are being developed and much more so we do what we do best; build relationships and love your children.
|
|
Of course, we could not make this happen without the support of our volunteers. We appreciate your dedication, especially when you are still on summer break. I love this time of year as we focus on new beginnings, new relationships and of course new school supplies. The PTA, Dads Club, staff and I are working diligently to prepare for the upcoming school year and we are all looking forward to reuniting with our Broncos and parents.
I am thrilled to announce our newest Bradfield team members. I look forward to you meeting them in person.

I want to thank Kate Cutshall, PTA President, and the PTA Board for its continued support and generosity to our Bradfield community. They, too, have worked tirelessly this summer planning events and activities for the coming school year, and have coordinated essential fundraising efforts necessary to maintain excellence at Bradfield.
Thank you to our PTA volunteers who continued the fabulous tradition of our Back to School Luncheon. Thank you to the Steinke family for opening your lovely home for our Fiesta Kick-off.

Thank you to PTA’s School Supply Chairs, Mona Vineyard and Kylie Gutzman, and their volunteers for sorting, organizing and delivering all of your children’s school supplies in order to be ready for the first day of school. A special shout out to the 50+ HPHS Cross Country Girls for lending a helping hand.
Thank you to PTA’s Carpool Chair Whitney Donaldson. She has been working countless hours to have carpool procedures and carpool tags ready for each family at Meet the Teacher. Thank you, for your organization and attention to detail to keep our Broncos safe! Please see below for more details about carpool procedures.
Dads Club President, Scott Trulock, is working with our awesome team of dads to continue the tradition of greeting our students during carpool arrival each morning. They also have wonderful plans for community-building activities that our Dads will not want to miss.
Shout out to our Bradfield Dads Club for kicking off the year with our traditional, Hamburger Man luncheon and swag on the first day back to provide a warm welcome for our staff.

Congratulations to Bradfield’s Relay Team who competed for the HPISD Convocation Cup. We may not have placed 1st, but they are still 1st in our hearts!

Please take a few minutes to become familiar with some of our latest security enhancements that will be in place for the upcoming school year. While these processes will take some getting used to, please know the intent is to ensure the safest school experience possible for our students, staff and families. You are the key to the school/home partnership and we value your time and support more than you know. Your assistance with the procedures and systems will help ensure we keep everyone safe and accounted for at Bradfield during the school day.
A special thank you to our teachers who worked alongside curriculum consultants this summer to ensure our students have research based instructional strategies that will enhance their learning. Please visit our HPISD website for more information.
I look forward to seeing each of you at Meet the Teacher, Monday, August 15 from 5-6 pm.
I look forward to seeing you and your children at the front door!
Regina Dumar

Here are a few tips to help you and your child have a great first week:
1st day of school
Arrival and photo opportunities
- Parents are welcome to walk their children to class on the first day of school where their teacher will be awaiting their grinning faces. The front doors will open at 7:30 and will lock at 8:00.
- We ask students Kinder-4th enter through the main entry of the building and PreK enter through the PreK doors (on Southern) by the small playground.
- Beginning the 2nd day of school, if students arrive between 7:30-7:50, they will report to the gym until they are dismissed to class. Parents may still walk students to class between 7:50-8:00. After 8:00, we kindly ask that you make your way to the main entrance/exit doors, so the students may start their day.
- Please arrive a few minutes early if you are planning to get photo opportunities on the front lawn.
- Make sure your child knows how they are getting home the first day/week of school.
- Each family will receive a new carpool number at Meet the Teacher.
- Help your child memorize their carpool tag number.
Student Absences
We ONLY need a doctor's note when a child has a doctor visit that happens during the school day and the child comes in late from that appointment, leaves early for that appointment, or leaves school and returns on that very same day.
Students are tardy after 8:00 a.m. After 9:30 a.m., students are counted absent.
Join Remind (Again!)
Send a text to 81010 to get grade level reminders from Principal Dumar. Each year the groups get reset, so everyone must join again.

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! I am honored to serve as this year’s PTA President alongside an incredible group of dedicated parent volunteers.
Thank you to everyone who has worked incredibly hard over the summer. We are so lucky to have wonderful parents willing to give their time and talents to help our school. Please join me in thanking the following volunteers for keeping Bradfield BOLD:
-
Laura Terry, for managing BSSU with ease!
-
Mona Vineyard & Kylie Gutzman, for coordinating our school supply order and the delivery of nearly 300 boxes of supplies to Bradfield last week!
-
Lindsey Baker & Holly Navarre, for working to secure our wonderful community partners, creating an incredible Family Giving brochure, and coming up with some pretty fabulous donor swag for the new school year!
-
Allison Small, for having the patience to create and re-create our official PTA Calendar for this school year.
-
Andrea Facini, ensuring the PTA section of the Bradfield website is up to date!
-
Jen Sowders, has hit it out of the park with our new and improved e-bulletin! It is visually eye catching, easy to read and you will never miss a beat with her news! Thank you so much, Jen!!
-
Jennifer Bergin, for updating the Bradfield PTA website, getting all family giving and fundraising offerings live on the site, as well as updating Dropbox and PTA emails for our full PTA Board! She and her Signup.com team, Kyli Vardeman, Namita Singh & Sahar Haji, also worked incredibly hard to create our new user-friendly volunteer sign up platform. Thank you, Ladies! We are all excited to use it!
-
Jessica Perno for securing two amazing restaurants after Meet the Teacher!!
-
Genevieve Short, Jennifer Morton, Maggie Apple & Jacie Walker, for providing the best Bronco spirit gear ever!! We can’t wait to see our kids strut their stuff!
-
Kamela Aboussie and the Staff Appreciation Team: Jessica Rugg, Ginna McClanahan, Beth Peters & Meredith Baird for getting our year organized with a great line up of events for our teachers. And to Rachel Steinke for opening her beautiful home to host the first Staff Appreciation Lunch this past Friday!
-
And finally, Laura McCallan. I can’t thank Laura enough for being the most incredible right hand to me, especially as I had to step away to tend to a family matter this summer. Laura gracefully and effortlessly took the reins, and the Bradfield community is lucky to have her as your next President in 2023!
