Summer Camp is in Full Swing!
While camps are full for the summer, we do have space available in our Family Camp Session, August 18-21. If you haven't experienced Family Camp you should think about it! This session offers campers of all ages the chance to enjoy camp together. At Family Camp you have the perfect opportunity to enjoy playing as a family or with friends. Many favorite traditional activities are available, and you choose how to spend your day! And Family Camp is an incredible, affordable family vacation!
Our campers have had so much fun over the past weeks making new friends, reconnecting with old friends, playing and learning! There is no shortage of laughter here as our campers climb on the ropes course, zip line, swim, sail, hike, make friendship bracelets, and test their skills in talent shows and so much more.

The memories are captured for display on our website. Parents please make sure to check your emails the Wednesday following the end of your camper's session for a survey a special video showcasing the camp life during the session.
Camper Diary
This year we are highlighting the camper experience on Instagram with a daily diary entry from one of the campers. Find out what campers love best from the food, sailing and archery, to being with friends. It warms our hearts to read how much camp means to our kids.

Without generous support from so many friends, some campers would not be able to experience Camp Chanco. We want to thank you for helping to create memories that will last a lifetime for our kids. So follow us on Instagram and look for our story titled "Camp Diary" and get ready to smile!
Second Annual Donor Celebration
SAVE THE DATE: October 22, 2022
We want to thank all of those friends who have graciously supported Chanco on the James this past year and we are thrilled about the upcoming unveiling of the Campaign for Chanco Wall of Recognition! This beautiful piece should be installed soon. Invitations for this special celebration in October will be sent to you in the weeks ahead.
Hand-Carved Processional Cross
Gifted to Chanco
Chanco gives thanks to Fred Alligood, parent and grandparent of campers, donor, and friend of Chanco, for the creation and donation of a processional cross now hanging in our Davenport Spirit Center. Chanco has borrowed crosses from our wonderful parishes over the years and now has the gift of a beautiful one of our own. The cross is based upon the processional cross of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, Midlothian, where Fred and his wife Mary have attended for 55 years. Inside the hand carved cross made of mahogany there is a “time capsule” located in a hollow space at the base of the shaft of the cross. May this very special processional cross bless worship during retreat and camp programming at Chanco on the James for generations to come. Thank you, Fred!
