Message from the President
The Spring 2021 Work Party was held on a beautiful spring Saturday and it felt almost normal again. The turnout was fantastic and the work all got done in time (thanks Ron Gallagher) to have the membership meeting before lunch (thanks Pam Ambrass and all contributors). If you didn't make it to the work party but would like to contribute, there are always project that needs done around the club. Contact Ron Gallagher and he'll point you towards some work. While it's been a tough past year due to the pandemic, with cases down and vaccines readily available, this year is shaping up to be back to normal and the club is no exception. We expect the club to be fully up and running this season and hope to see everyone out on the water enjoying their boat or on the porch enjoying their drink.

Our permanent docks suffered some pretty heavy damage to the support poles this winter from the ice. We are working on solutions for next winter but we will have to pull all 55 of the poles, straighten them, and reinstall. We are allowing boats to be launched and placed on the docks, however there may be a need to temporarily move some boats as we get into our repairs. Stay tuned for more details on the work and long term solutions. Speaking of docks, they are full again for 2021 and we have a waiting list currently at 4 members. If you are interested in getting on the waiting list please contact me for more details. If you have a slip but are not planning to use it in 2021 or even if you are planning to launch late and want to sub-lease your spot for a few months, please contact Menno Jager to discuss your options.

Stay safe, boat safe, and I hope to see you at the club soon.
WORK PARTY
Another Successful Work Day!

The weather was perfect, the turnout of members was huge, (about 65 smiling faces!) the food was fantastic, and most importantly, the club is ready for the season!
Many thanks to everyone that came out to lend a hand!
If you couldn't make the work day and would still like to help in some way, no worries. I'll be sending out a Breeze Extra containing a list of little things that need done around the club.
Thanks again! Ron Gallagher

Meet the crew!
For those of you who refuse to give in to social media (good for you!) ... for the past few weeks we have been posting "Meet the crew" series to introduce the smiling faces behind all the operations here at PCC. We will share them all in the Breeze over the next couple of issues.
Ron Gallagher

As the Buildings and Grounds Chair, Ron is responsible for the well being of the inside and outside of our facilities. He's always busy fixing, upgrading, improving, updating - you get the idea - to make sure the club serves our members well.
Thanks Ron for ALL that you do, well above and beyond your job description! Read more here!
Pam Ambrass

Pam assures that the "social" part of our social club is alive and well with all of her event planning. After a quieter than normal 2020, we are hoping to bring back the camaraderie of our summer parties back this year.
Thank you Pam for all of the work you put into our social life at the club! Read more here!

Babes on the Bay 2021
Saturday, June 19 @ 9AM-3PM

Calling all Ladies! We had fun the last time we did this, so why not do it again! Babes on the Bay will be an introductory sailing class for ladies only!

Join us at PCC as we de-mystify sailing. We will begin with water safety, boat terminology, how to read wind and water, why does the boat heel, points of sail, as well as tacking and jibing (turning). Weather and time permitting we will practice some of our new skills on a boat at the dock and possibly on the water. Message us with any questions!

Questions? Contact Lidia.

There's no charge for this event, but we kindly ask that you RSVP if you plan on attending. RSVP here.
AED/CPR Training
A new AED unit has been purchased and installed for club members use. A complimentary training on how to use it will be scheduled within the next few weeks and will be available to all interested.

In addition to the AED training, a CPR / First Aid will also be offered. The CPR portion will be $45 per person and will be scheduled on the same day.

Date and time for both is yet to be determined.

Since there is a minimum number of students required in order to hold the class, please let us know if you are interested in either or both sessions by contacting either Ron Gallagher or Lidia Gray.
Enjoy Wine and Music?
Come on out to the Nova Cellars Winery June 12th to support Ryan and Jamie Paglia's band "Coleville" as they play a new album release show!
Input to our monthly newsletter is encouraged and greatly appreciated! Please email articles and photos to Breeze Editor in Chief, Lidia Gray at szarak2000@yahoo.com by the 25th of each month.
