“Forgiving As We Go"
Rev. Jaimie Dingus
10:45 AM
We are becoming something new, something we haven’t quite imagined yet. And in the process of becoming, we are going to bump heads and make mistakes. What could it look like to center forgiveness as we move in these uncharted waters? Who might we become with grace as our guide?

"Community Vigil"
Friday, April 16th from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
With the Derek Chauvin trial, the murder of Daunte Wright, recent school shootings, and all the violence being done by a white supremacy culture, so present in the news this week, many of us are feeling anger, sadness, and grief. And for our BIPOC members and friends, that grief and anger are multiplied. Join Rev. Jaimie for a drop-in community vigil on Friday afternoon, to process, light candles, and be in solidarity together.
Unitarian Universalist Church Huntsville, AL is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Amanda is Graduating
and You're Invited!!
For the last 9 years, you have been an integral part of my Ministerial formation, and graduation day wouldn't be complete without you.
On May 13th at 7:00 PM central, I will graduate from Starr King School for the Ministry with my Master of Divinity. Due to COVID-19, the ceremony will be online. Admission is free, and you can reserve your ticket by clicking here. This ceremony is the culmination of many years of discernment and work, and I would be honored to have you there to celebrate this special occasion with me.

Organizing Project
Friday Afternoon, April 16th
1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Task: Sort & Clean and Build new flower & vase shelves, in preparation of the opportunity to inspire our congregation with visual worship support. The cleared space and organized décor items will make the NE wing storage space for Aesthetics more accessible for the in-person worship service experience. Bring water bottles and work gloves. This is a work event for those that wish to know the resources for decorating the Sanctuary during in-person worship!!
Start thinking about participating, but keep in mind that this will be a two-person COVID-19 safety periodical event! Work for an hour or two by appointment only! To sign up for the Organizing Project, contact Rachael Scheib at Rscheib8@hotmail.com.

ARE YOU READY TO BECOME A MEMBER?
If you’ve been attending UUCH long enough to know that this church community feels like your spiritual home, you may be ready to take the next step and become a member of this congregation. In late April, Rev. Jaimie plans to welcome new members as they “sign the book” and officially join our church. New members will be recognized during a virtual Sunday service. Due to COVID-19 safety guidelines, we plan to use recorded moments from socially-distanced individual sessions for each new member, where they will sign the membership book and be welcomed to UUCH.
If you are ready to become a member or would like to find out more about the process, please contact Pam Korb as soon as possible, but no later than April 20th ( click here).
RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF MEMBERSHIP
Because we are a democratic community, members are collectively vested with responsibility for the congregation. Members may vote at all congregational meetings, be elected to the governing Board, be appointed as committee chairs, and participate in all activities of the congregation. Because we are a covenanted congregation, members have certain responsibilities to the congregation and each other. These responsibilities are best fulfilled by:
- Regular attendance at worship
- Voting at congregational meetings
- Making financial contributions
- Contributing time and talent
- Spiritual growth and development

Property Work/Fun Day
Saturday, April 24
10:00 AM
It has been a while since we've had a Property Work/Fun Day. Even though the building is closed for group activities, to ensure that it will be ready when those resume there are maintenance tasks that need to be performed. And even in these pandemic times, small groups have met outside in front of the church and the courtyard, so maintaining these areas is important, as well.
We'll finish the raised beds in the garden, replace lights and filters, do some cleanup outside, and prepare the corner RE classroom ceiling for painting.
For most tasks no special skills are needed, just willing hands for a couple of hours, to ensure that the building is ready for when activities resume.
Date: Saturday, April 24, 2021
Time: 10:00 am to noonish
Bring: work gloves if you have them (but some will be available if you don't have any)

Care List
This Sunday at our Circle of Candles:
Paul and Bridgit lit a candle of joy: Paul and I so enjoyed the flower communion last Sunday. We loved it all, especially the drive-thru donation/flower pickup.
LaDawn Edwards (she/her) lit a candle of joy: Sunshine, outdoor theatre, & my mother's fall-detecting Apple watch.
Erin Reid (she/her) lit a candle of concern: For a family member going through a hard time.
Shalin Mody (he/him) lit a candle of joy: Things are improving at my office, more "regular order" & less toxic-wild-west attitudes—lower stress for me as I gear up for a big home renovation phase.
Kathy Fisher lit a candle of joy: Have been fully vaccinated and loved spending spring break with my son and his family! And, a candle of concern: My brother-in-law had serious surgery, will be in a rehab facility for 3 months, and my sister is staying with me. Plus, a candle of sorrow: Please send love and prayers to Dave and Lana Anderson and their family as they grieve the sudden death of their son, Stone. The music community in Huntsville has suffered a terrible loss.
John/Eleanor Schweinsberg lit a candle of concern: We are concerned about our niece and her husband in Michigan. They both have COVID-19. This is not over yet.
Miranda Durbin lit a candle of sorrow: We were supposed to be moving to Colorado in July. Andy's job transfer within USPS looked like a sure thing...but fell through. We're trying to remain hopeful that another mutual transfer opportunity will open up for him soon. We very much have our hearts set on Colorado.
Rachel Brewer lit a candle of sorrow: A disheartening time at work Friday causing lots of self-doubt and sadness. And, a candle of joy: For good friends, partners, and puppy dogs that pull you out of an emotional funk.
The Delaceys lit a candle of joy: Vaccines have been opened up and Ana has an appointment for tomorrow morning! The rest of the adults in the house are fully vaccinated!
