What’s Open/Closed

The following Instructional (L) Building and A building spaces continue to be open as student study space Monday-Friday from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. and weekends from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. with access via L-building elevators and emergency stairwells:
  • L14 Hiebert Lounge
  • L1101 Testing Center and L1110 classroom
  • L109ABC, L107, L112 
  • A Building – A4 Medical Student Lounge and adjacent small rooms (medical students only)

Please note: the McNary classrooms in Housman (R) Building, first floor, are now closed. All students, faculty and staff should carry your ID at all times. All BU-owned buildings are card access only.

McCahan Education Day Postponed

The 15 th  Annual McCahan Education Day has been postponed to a later date. In light of the current circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, the organizing committee will honor all Abstract submissions when it considers Awards for Best Student Abstract and Best Resident/Fellow Abstract, regardless of whether that student, resident or fellow has graduated by the time of the rescheduled event. Both the Abstract and Workshop Submissions portals will remain open until the original deadline of April 10. Stay tuned for more details about the rescheduled McCahan Education Day.

Our inboxes are being flooded with mail on a variety of topics. Please consider the following guidance on the appropriate use of email, especially during these challenging times:
  • Keep your email short and concise
  • Use ‘reply-all’ judiciously
  • Skip ‘thank you’ emails

The Office of the Ombuds remains available to assist anyone in the BU community with concerns involving work, study or life at BU. Their now-virtual office is a safe place for confidential, off-the-record conversations. The COVID-19 crisis has called on all of us to adapt to an unfamiliar and fully virtual landscape They can help you develop options, and seek out resources to address concerns, especially those that are highly sensitive and require confidentiality.

Stephen Raulli, BUSM ’20, always knew he wanted to go into medicine. What he didn’t anticipate doing was serving as a Navy fighter pilot for nearly 15 years and then attending medical school at BUSM. Watch the video.
