Extended Day Schedule Update

Carleton Washburne School Families,

We are excited to share that we are moving forward with Carleton Washburne's Extended Day Schedule, affording our students the opportunity to increase their in-person learning. The shift to the new schedule is targeted for Monday, March 15. During the next month, we will be working to finalize the schedule from a logistical and operational perspective. At this time, we are planning on merging our AM and PM pods, resulting in all students attending school from 8:30 am - 12:45 pm. Classes will be utilizing larger spaces (such as gyms, the cafeteria, etc.) to achieve 6 feet of social distancing. Students will also have a remote portion of the day between 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm.

As noted in our last several newsletters, families have an opportunity to change their Trimester 3 selection and opt into Remote Learning if an Extended Day is not desired, or to opt into the In-Person Extended Day option if they no longer wish to be remote. Note that all Remote Learning students will stay on their same team but we cannot guarantee that they will have all of their current teachers. If you would like to make a change to your family's previous selection, please fill out this form no later than Monday, February 22.

If you have already indicated your choice for Trimester 3 and do not wish to make changes, you do not need to complete the form. Note that your response is binding from March 15 through the end of the school year.

We will be in touch over the next few weeks with more specific details regarding this shift in our programming. We appreciate your collaboration and feedback as we have worked on this plan, and look forward to partnering with you for a successful conclusion of our 2020-2021 school year.
