CONSERVATORY EMERGENCY DRILL

Please be aware that we will be holding the fall semester conservatory emergency drill this coming Tuesday, September 20, during Block 8. At the conclusion of the drill, students will return to class for continued arts instruction.

PICTURE MAKE-UP DAYS

Picture Make-Up Days are coming up on Wednesday, October 5 and Thursday, October 6. On Wednesday, October 5 between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., students who missed On-Campus Registration will receive a call slip to take school pictures in Symphony Hall. These photos will then be used on the student’s new ID card and will also appear in the yearbook. See below for the assigned blocks by grade level:

Grade 7 – Block 1 at 8:35 a.m.
Grade 9 – Block 1 at 9 a.m.
Grade 8 – Block 2 at 10:10 a.m.
Grade 10 – Block 2 at 10:40 a.m.
Grade 11 – Block 3 at 12:15 p.m.
Grade 12 – Block 3 at 12:55 p.m.

Please note: If students do not receive a call slip at the above times and have not been photographed, they should visit Student Services in Room T101 or go to Symphony Hall prior to 4 p.m.

Make-up pictures will also be taken on Thursday, October 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; however, this date is reserved for staff and a select number of students who missed the previous day, as there will only be one camera.

Retakes will be taken during Lunch and Office Hours on both Make-Up Picture Days. Students must bring their original ID cards and portrait packets to return it to the photographer for retakes.

OCSA CLUB RUSH

Attention students: Club Rush is almost here! Find out about all of the incredible clubs you can join next Friday, September 23 during Lunch and Office Hours. Details are still being finalized, so keep an eye on the 2022-2023 Club Classroom (code vbxmj6l) for updates.

For those who are unaware, Club Rush is an exciting biannual event where club leaders showcase their clubs and attract interested students to join. Students can still join clubs after Club Rush, and there will be a file posted in the Google Classroom that lists where and when all clubs meet. We hope to see you all at Club Rush!

COLLEGE FAIR

Attention high school families: We are delighted to announce that OCSA’s College Fair will be returning to campus entirely in person this year. We hope you will plan to join us on Thursday, October 20 and Friday, October 21 for a full lineup of master classes, workshops, panels, booths with college representatives, and more! Stay tuned for a link to register for this informative multi-day event. ENCORE CONSERVATORY CHALLENGE WINNER

We are pleased to announce that the winner of the Encore Conservatory Challenge is ... Musical Theatre! Congratulations to the Musical Theatre Conservatory for having the highest percentage of families join Encore this school year. To reward their enthusiasm and support, $2,500 will be awarded to the Musical Theatre Conservatory to support a master artist or other arts enrichment initiative of the conservatory director’s choice! Thank you to every family who generously offered their support by joining Encore this year!

SEASON PREMIERE OPPORTUNITY DRAWING

The Season Premiere Opportunity Drawing has been extended! Regardless of whether you are planning to attend Season Premiere 2022 on Saturday, October 1, all are invited to participate and show support for our outstanding student artists. HEALTH & SAFETY REMINDERS

The health and safety of our students, staff, and community remain at the forefront of our efforts. OCSA will continue to follow all guidance set by the California Department of Public Health. At this time, mask wearing on the OCSA campus is optional. Students who have tested positive for COVID-19 and/or are exhibiting symptoms should remain at home and fill out the COVID-19 Reporting Form.
