In the wake of the Coronavirus Pandemic (COVID-19) and in an attempt to keep you informed of the latest news affecting IBEW Local 43, we are providing you with the following:
On the Federal level, the
Families First Coronavirus Response Act passed yesterday and addresses: emergency sick leave, emergency family leave, Employer tax credits, and coverage for testing.
On the NY State level, the Senator Ramos sponsored Bill passed which addresses paid leave for those on quarantine and streamlines access to unemployment benefits.
GOVERNOR CUOMO'S EMERGENCY RELIEF
3/19/20 - A. 10153 Nolan/S. 8091 Ramos
- This is a Governor's program bill, introduced at the request of the Governor, passed both houses and signed into law on 3/18/20.
- This bill would enact an emergency program to provide coverage for workers impacted by COVID-19 closures, and isolation and quarantine orders.
