Let's Dance and Deal: Academy's Centennial Celebration

Join us for an evening of fun during Centennial Celebration: Let’s Dance & Deal, an opportunity to mingle with friends, roll the dice in our casino-style ballroom, and dress in attire from your favorite decade. Put on your dapper 20s suit and hat, 70s disco pants, 80s big hair, etc. We’ll travel back in time while you dance to music from the decades.

This event is included in your registration for Academy 2022 San Diego.

Two New Academy Special Interest Groups

Fellows, here is your first look at two new Special Interest Groups (SIGs) you can be a part of within the Academy.

Academic Optometry SIG

The Academic Optometry Special Interest Group's mission is to create a network within the academic optometric community to provide mentorship and foster collaboration. The SIG has more than 120 faculty members with divisions of an advisory committee of senior faculty, a liaison committee of junior faculty, and general members ranging from all forms of academic rank from Clinical Instructors to Professors and Deans, representing 16 optometry schools and eight ophthalmology programs.

Contact Dr. Yocheved Shira Kresch to learn more.

Ophthalmic Lasers SIG

The purpose of the Ophthalmic Lasers Special Interest Group is to gather those with an interest in these exciting procedures. Membership includes professionals actively performing procedures and those interested in learning more. The SIG is open to Academy Fellows from an academic background as well as in an active practice setting. Our goal is to share information, techniques, relevant literature, and the latest advancements in technology in order to foster greater communication and collaboration in this area.
