COVID-19 Information
King County Key-Indicators Dashboard
On May 31, the Governor’s "Stay Home, Stay Healthy proclamation" will end, and the state will move into a phased reopening plan called "Safe Start". Counties will be able to move between phases as the data demonstrates that it is safe. King County Public Health has published a new COVID-19 Key Indicators Dashboard which provides a snapshot of several metrics related to COVID-19 activity in the community. RMS Virtual Grizzly Time PSL (Repeat)
The RMS Virtual Grizzly Time page is finally ready! When in school, our Grizzly Time classes serve as the vehicle for Social-Emotional skill instruction and communicating important school and community information. Our new RMS Virtual Grizzly Time page will serve this role in our online school environment. We are hopeful that this resource will be helpful for students and families in re-building our RMS community from afar for the remainder of our school year. We are Kind. We are Honest. We are Proud. Return Books
Please return any school library books or class novels that you have! (You can return textbooks if you KNOW you do not need them again--we will not be able to return them to you once you turn them in.) There are carts outside of the front doors by the benches every Monday and Thursday from 10:30 AM-2:00 PM to drop off books!

Check Out Books
You can check out library books until the end of the school year! See the Library PSL and the Library Teams for the order form. Orders in by Monday will be available for Thursday pick up, and orders in by Thursday will be available for Monday pick up!

Online PTSA Membership Meeting, June 2
Please join us for the final PTSA Membership Meeting of the 2019-2020 school year on Tuesday, June 2 at 7:00 PM, online, from the comfort of your own home! We will be conducting the meeting virtually via Zoom. Everyone is welcome!

FACE Parent Education: "10 Commandments of Parenting"
RMS PTSA FACE (Family and Community Engagement) presents "10 Commandments of Parenting" on Thursday, June 11, 7:00 PM. This webinar will provide parents an opportunity to reset and re-calibrate our role as parents in this uncertain and unpredictable times with invaluable tips and anecdotes presented by Dr. Len Fellez. Dr. Fellez is the Best Selling author of "Guerrilla Parenting" and a national speaker on parent education topics and a school teacher for 37 years. Last Chance to Submit SchoolPool
Sunday, May 31 is the last day to participate in the SchoolPool program! Remind your students to do homework, play outside and take lots of breaks. Fill out the form by 5:00 PM and your student can earn digital rewards like an e-coupon and also help earn RMS $5 per student.

RMS Quarantine Spirit Wear Drive
Buy a shirt to help us commemorate this crazy year and unite the RMS community! View the flyer . Proceeds will go to support RMS ASB for the 2020-2021 school year. All designs are $25. The drive closes Friday, June 12 so order yours soon!

ASB Elections
Online elections for ASB Representatives for the 2020-2021 school year will be held this week. Students will receive an email on Monday, June 1 with a link the the candidate speech video and their ballot. Students will have until end of day Friday, June 5 to view the candidate speeches and submit their ballot form. An announcement will be made the following week regarding the winners. Please encourage your students to vote!

Grizzly families, the annual RMS talent show would have been held around this time of year, but because of our circumstances, the students from Leadership Class have planned a virtual alternative to our tradition! We are asking students and staff to send us videos showing off their talent - anything from music, pet tricks, sports, trick shots, and more. An email was sent to students and staff with directions to submit their clips during the week of May 25, and submissions will be open until Friday, June 5. Then, we will compile the submissions into one virtual talent show video. All videos will be screened beforehand for appropriateness and some may be edited for time.
Baby Picture Slideshow Photo Submissions (Repeat)
8th grade families, as a final HOORAY to finishing 8th grade, the Leadership 2 Class will be creating a Baby Picture Slideshow. The video will be posted in late June for the 8th grade families to watch and to celebrate.

Please submit an appropriate baby picture your student is comfortable sharing and a current picture by midnight, Monday, June 1. Please have your student submit the pictures through the Photo Submission Form . To be able to access the link you must be signed into a student LWSD account.
Community
Pantry Packs Weekend Food Program
Food-insecurity is climbing in LWSD. Each Friday Pantry Packs are given to students in need at six middle school district meal sites, and the numbers are increasing. On May 22, school staff volunteers handed out 1,400 packs. By comparison, 940 students received packs prior to LWSD closures. Pantry Packs appreciates the support of the community to help put shelf-stable food in the hands of LWSD children.
