STONE HARBOR
CHAMBER CHATTER
Friday, March 20, 2020
Please read the following messages from our mayor, Judy-Davies Dunhour
and our SH Chamber of Commerce president, Maggie Day.
As we are aware, the Borough of Stone Harbor, and the rest of Cape May
County, is a tourism driven area and economy that places great value on
second homeowners and seasonal visitors.  During normal circumstances, we
welcome everyone with open arms and extend our hospitality.  The events
of the last two weeks here and last three months worldwide have forced
us to send a message that goes against our usual philosophy.  I would
like to thank and commend the Chamber of Commerce for supporting the
message of social distancing and taking this situation seriously, since
the health of so many is at risk. These are hard decisions for everyone,
but the more focused we are about limiting our travel and interactions
with each other now, the faster this will all be over. To our visitors
and second homeowners, Stone Harbor values you and looks forward to all
of us reuniting when this is over.

Judy Davies-Dunhour

Mayor, Borough of Stone Harbor
To our Loyal Stone Harbor Extended Family
In this unprecedented time, and with so many of our lifestyles turned upside down, I, together with the Stone Harbor Chamber of Commerce, would like to take the opportunity to say how grateful we are for all of our people.  To our residents, our second home owners, our local neighbors in all of Cape May County, our seasonal visitors and our generations of vacationers: WE APPRECIATE YOU!
We can not wait for all of this to be over so we can move on with our lives and our work and our Stone Harbor Summer. We are complying with the directives from our emergency management authorities in order to help get back to normal as quickly as possible.
I look forward to the day where we can all celebrate the sunshine, the salt air, the stores and restaurants, and the unique relaxation Stone Harbor provides to all of us - together.
Thank you to all of you for your years and lifetimes of love, loyalty, and support and thank you for being part of our community!
Maggie Day
President, Stone Harbor Chamber of Commerce

The news and directives from our leaders here in NJ and Cape May County are coming to us on a daily basis.

As of March 16, in order to combat COVID-19 and reduce the rate of community spread, the Governor of NJ issued an executive order recommending that for the next eight weeks, gatherings of 50 or more people be canceled or postponed. Schools have been ordered to close for the next several weeks; bars, movie theaters, casinos, gyms, fitness centers, concert venues, nightclubs are closed until further notice and restaurants must limit their services to take out and delivery only.
Just yesterday, salons, spas, etc. were also ordered to close. There is a curfew in place from 8pm to 5am for nonessential businesses to follow.

We will do our best to share updated information regarding our Seven Mile Island and Cape May County businesses - our goal at the SH Chamber is to promote our member businesses and we want you to be able to provide you with information re: your favorite places, shops and eateries.

For now, we ask that you stay informed on social media - follow us on facebook and Instagram to stay up-to-date with Stone Harbor and Seven Mile Island. See links below. Our Business Directory is available on our web site with contact information for our all our member businesses.
