Worship With Us
Join us for worship this Sunday at 9:55am (or watch it later) on Facebook Live (see link below). You don’t need a Facebook account to access this worship service. Our scriptures are Psalm 8 (Creation and our responsibilities with it); Matthew 28:16-20 (Jesus giving authority and the great commission to GO!); and 2Corinthians 13:11-13 (How to treat one another) with a sermon entitled Don’t Just Do Something, Stand There. What does it look like to be faithful today? What does it sound like?

We will celebrate the sacrament of Communion at our open table. Please prepare some bread/crackers and wine/juice/whatever to receive during worship.

You can find worship services of the last few months on our YouTube Channel (Kevin Cameron) or on Facebook (ParkwayUnitedChurchOfChrist) under videos.

Give-A-Meal Anytime this Summer!
Please consider making a financial contribution and/or sharing non-perishable food items with Isaiah 58 or Circle of Concern. They are doing critically important work these days. Monetary support can be sent to them directly. Food can be dropped there (note their restricted hours) or here on the table just inside the main doors.

Inspiration
O Lord,
open my eyes that I may see the needs of others;
open my ears that I may hear their cries;
open my heart so that they need not be without succor;
let me not be afraid to defend the weak because of the
anger of the strong,
nor afraid to defend the poor because of the
anger of the rich.
Show me where love and hope and faith are needed,
and use me to bring them to those places.
And so open my eyes and my ears
that I may this coming day be able to do some work of
peace for thee.
Amen.
- Alan Paton
Humor
Paraprosdokians are figures of speech in which the latter part of a sentence or phrase is surprising or unexpected and is frequently humorous. (Sir Winston Churchill loved them).

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

Knowledge, is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism. To steal from many is research.

I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute
to skydive twice.

I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

Lyrics: I'm a young black man doing all that i can to stand… oh but when i look around and i see what's being done to my kind everyday… I'm being haunted as prey… my people don't want no trouble… we've had enough struggle… i just wanna live… God protect me!
MAD Camp Goes to the Circus ONLINE
Monday, July 27-Thursday, July 31 via ZOOM
From MoVal
Greetings Camping Churches ,

We are so excited to share a camp experience with you for the campers in your church. We will be offering a free of charge week of camp for different age groups.
  • July 6-10 High School Camp going into grades 10-13
  • July 13-17 Upper Junior Camp going into grades 3-5
  • July 20-24 All grade school going into grades K-8
  • July 27-31 Middle School Camp going into grades 7-9
These camp sessions will be held in a Zoom chatroom from 1:00 pm-4:00 pm and will be supervised by Camp MoVal staff and volunteers. The campers will experience time for devotionals, nature studies and guides, crafts and plenty of time for discussion and conversations.
I encourage you to register your campers early, there are only 50 available slots per sessions. We are hoping that as the children and youth in your church are registering, you are able to assist in the technology side of the camp sessions should there be a need.
We cannot wait to see our campers and be in community together!

Many Blessings,

Camp MoVal Staff
