Dear CCGS Families,
Thank you so much for all of the food donations for our local pantry. It was so fun seeing everyone get into our spirit week both here at school and at home. I am so thrilled with the success we are seeing and the growth students are making! This week while visiting remote classrooms we got to tell some jokes with Mr. Andres's class at his morning meeting. We also visited a small math group in Ms. Costa's classroom, where they were working on strategies of breaking apart tens and ones to do mental math. In Ms. Page's classroom they were working on math strategies too and we danced along to a fact family song. Ms. Fenstra's classroom was learning how to use a multiplication table. In school we heard Ms. Kensel's classroom's Hopes and Dreams and they even got to spray us down with silly string for raising the most money for our YEF fundraiser. If you missed it on Facebook you can watch it here! In Ms. Litchfield's classroom they used problem solving and critical thinking skills to find the pattern for a cookie monster array project. I also enjoyed being an art teacher and reading a book to Ms. Lindner's class this week!

Thank you so much for sharing your pictures to our album.
HERE is the link to our August and September Video. Please show it to your class even if you did not add photos this month.
Please add any October pictures you take to this album. I use the photos you share in our monthly video and newsletters.

I hope you have a great weekend with your family!
Mrs. Hamm

Show Kindness is one of our 4 Cornerstones at CCGS and this week so much generosity and kindness was shown.
  1. We collected more than half a pumpkin size container of food!
  2. We got a gracious donation of over 30 chairs from Long Supply (Mr. and Mrs. Long) for our teachers to use when they go outside for teaching time or for lunch.
  3. Our students loved writing and giving thank you notes this week to others.
Thank you so much for all of your hard work as well!
This student was so excited to be our shout out school prize winner! He got a special pencil and will be our pledge leader all of next week. To watch the pledge from home each day please visit our Google website.
Congratulations to our Golden Platter Winner of the week! Ms. Prentice's classroom was chosen this week for following the 4 school cornerstones during recess and lunch.

Support Addy!
Many of our families know Mrs. Becker and her daughter Addy who is a third grade student here at CCGS. Addy is fighting Batten's Disease and the Yorkville community continues to support her family in raising awareness for this cause. We also have been helping Addy raise money for her service dog and his training. If you are interested in supporting Addy, please click on this link to see one of the newly designed shirts that are available for purchase.
