Regional Reports
Alberta Report
It was a very long and good weathered fall season for most of Alberta. Courses had ample time to get everything “put to bed” before the cold temperatures and snow arrived, and even now very little snow is present in the southern areas of the province. Now is the time to recharge the batteries, enjoy the holidays and maybe even venture or plan for a warm vacation!
With the winter season also comes conference time and a return to in-person events this winter. The CGSA is excited to once again partner with the OGSA for the Canadian in Toronto from Jan 18-20.  The event will be held at the Sheraton Centre, with a great speaker lineup and an exciting Wednesday night party to be announced very soon. Hope to see a great Alberta contingent out east.
Ontario Report
Another successful golf season has ended in Ontario and now winter has come earlier than normal to several regions across the province. Overall, it was a much wetter fall than usual however Superintendents were able to get the needed work done to put their respective golf courses to rest for the winter months.

The OGSA recently appointed Courtney White to the position of Executive Manager for the association. Congratulations to Courtney and best of luck for the future.

Bryce Allan Brings Fresh Perspective to Turf Industry
Ontario’s golf clubs will benefit from the latest changes to the Syngenta Professional Solutions team, thanks to restructuring and a new position – Turf Specialist, Southern Ontario.
“This is a region that we felt was underserved, as we had no one dedicated to southern Ontario in the past. We are very happy to have Bryce Allan joining the team in this new role, because we feel he can add value for superintendents in ways we have not been able to do in the past,” said Dale Kobelsky, Head of Syngenta – Professional Solutions, Canada.
