PEPPERMINT BARK
Whip up this festive and tasty Peppermint Bark with just 5 ingredients. This recipe makes plenty to share with family and friends to spread a little holiday cheer!
Ingredients
• 8 ounces high-quality semisweet chocolate, broken into pieces
• 2 teaspoons canola oil, divided
• ½ teaspoon peppermint extract, divided
• 8 ounces high-quality white chocolate, broken into pieces
• 25 peppermint candies, crushed
Directions
Step 1
Grease a 9 by 9” pan and line it with waxed paper. Set it aside.
Step 2
Then, Place the semisweet chocolate pieces and 1 teaspoon of your canola oil on the top of the double boiler, making sure that the water is just barely simmering. Stirring the chocolate mixture frequently and then scraping down the sides with a spatula to avoid the chocolate from burning. Then, when the chocolate is completely melted, stir in 1/4 teaspoons of your peppermint extract.
Step 3
Next, pour the melted chocolate in the previously prepared pan, and then spread it evenly over the pan, it should be at the bottom. Garnish half of the peppermints over the top of the chocolate layer. Then, refrigerate the bark until it is completely hardened, which takes around 1 hour.
Step 4
Then, put the white chocolate and your remaining 1 teaspoon canola oil on top of a double boiler over just barely simmering water, Repeat the same process for the semisweet chocolate. Don’t forget to add more peppermint pieces on top of the white chocolate layer.
Step 5
When the bark has hardened, then remove the candy from its pan. Finally, break the bark into small pieces to serve and share with others.
