Message from Dr. Enslin
In the summer of 2011, I was fortunate to join UNC Charlotte as the first full-time director of EPIC. Within my first year I led the opening of the university's largest building, providing EPIC a stunning home for classrooms, offices, and laboratory space. State-of-the-art labs focusing on key power and energy areas were outfitted and put to good use, first-rate faculty were recruited, and partnerships with industry were developed and nurtured. Now as I prepare to leave EPIC I would like to thank all those who helped to push EPIC to become a leader in energy education and research, including among others, the UNC Charlotte leadership, EPIC Advisory Board, EPIC Partners and EPIC Faculty Associates and staff. I am very proud of the EPIC faculty and staff working as a team to build a nationally renowned program in power and energy with respected education, research and economic development work. EPIC is poised to be a pivotal player in the energy realm and with a continued focus on industry partnerships, innovative research and the nurturing of talented students, EPIC's future is bright!
