From Your Councilmember
This morning, the Council held a Special Voting meeting on the subject of requiring face masks to be worn in public in Glendale to help slow the spread of COVID-19.  A resolution had been prepared to have the Council direct the Mayor to make such a proclamation, but it was quickly disposed of because there was no legitimate need for us to direct the Mayor to do what he already has the power to do.  There was spirited discussion among the Council, and some public comments, too.  At the conclusion of the meeting Mayor Weiers said he would take everything under advisement and make a decision before 5pm today.  For those of you wondering, the unsolicited email letters to my office have been running more than 2:1 in favor of requiring masks.  I spoke in support of requiring masks with some reasonable exceptions.  You can watch this morning's meeting HERE.

Keep cool and stay hydrated!

Bart Turner
