Team Challenge Update

220 Points Requirement for Company of the Year:
If your team is planning to apply for the Company of the Year Award, your team is required to have a minimum of 220 points. Please note that you will likely not have 220 points at the time of your awards submission as many of the points will come towards the end of April. You can still submit for the award! If you have been meeting most deadlines and will be submitting the remaining requirements along with a few additional bonus points, you will likely make the points. If you are unsure, please feel free to email us to ask for an update on your team's progress.

Removal of "Bring a Friend" week:
Please note that we are removing the "Bring a Friend" week in the team challenge points. If you and your team are still interested in running a "Bring a Friend" week, please reach out to us first. No points will be awarded.

Some team challenges points have been noted below under the different deadlines.

Battle of the Ads Survey

It has now been two weeks since the Battle of the Ads workshop and we want to know how your team is doing!

End of Year

It is nearing the end of the year! While you can take advantage of the April Break and the optional week, it is time to start thinking about wrapping up your Company Program.

In the next few weeks, your team will be:
  • Wrapping up your sales
  • Completing your liquidation process and preparing your final shareholders' report
  • Preparing for your final meeting
  • Reflecting on your Company Program experience (reviewing where you're at in your personal and team goals, your KPIs, etc.)
  • Celebrating your success! Whether you made a profit or not, it's time to look back and see how far you have all come and to celebrate your team

Continuing your Business

If you plan on continuing your company after JA, your team is still required to complete the liquidation process and closing of the business as per the JA Company Program requirements.

Once you have completed these requirements and have submitted your final shareholders' report, you can then determine as a team which members will continue on. All members who choose not to continue must understand that by doing so they are relinquishing their part in the company. You will need to have this clearly indicated and in writing – who will and will not continue with the company – and have all members sign off on it.

After that, your company’s affiliation with JA will come to an end and it will be up to the remaining members to determine the next steps for establishing your business.

If you are using Shopify, you may be able to keep your site. When liquidating, you may have to sell off any assets to yourselves (or whoever has agreed to continue the company) and then we will request Shopify to move the ownership of the Shopify account to you and your members. Keep in mind you will then be responsible for all Shopify membership fees going forward as soon as you are no longer affiliated with JA.
