Staff Satisfaction Remains High
Despite Pandemic
Each year we survey students, parents, and staff regarding satisfaction with the District and the school year. I’ve previously shared this year’s results for our parents, middle school students, and elementary students in this space. Today I share Staff Satisfaction Survey results. With a confidence level of 99% and a margin of error of 2%, the data should very accurately reflect the feelings of our staff members. Here’s a look at the overall staff data.
The survey was administered in December, when fully remote learning was in place. When comparing these with the results from last year, we observe consistently strong scores across nearly all categories measured. Digging deeper, statistically significant changes from last year to this include improvements on already strong results agreeing with the statements “students at my school demonstrate behaviors that allow staff members to teach, and students to learn” (+18.9%), “parents understand the school curriculum” (+13.4%), and the principal “provides me with support for my work” (+5.2%). From this data, it appears that the revised instructional delivery method may have contributed to teachers actually feeling more connected with students, parents and administrators.

We remain grateful to our dedicated staff members for their amazing efforts in making adjustments, along with parents and students, throughout the pandemic. We are aware that attitudes may have shifted in the months since this survey.

As with all of our Satisfaction Survey data, principals and school Building Leadership Teams (BLTs) are utilizing this data to develop action plans and yearly School Improvement Plans, and our administrators are using the data to inform decisions. Again I thank each parent, student, and staff member for taking the time to give us feedback. It will be used to help us improve. You can find this and all Satisfaction Survey data at www.ccsd93.com/satisfaction and posted to school websites.

Partnering With DuPage County to Offer CCSD93 Families With Tree Seedlings
Recently, Cool DuPage identified the boundaries of Jay Stream Middle School as an area of lower tree canopy cover within DuPage County. To help remedy this, this week CCSD93 partnered with them to distribute 600 tree seedlings to families of Jay Stream, Western Trails, Heritage Lakes and Carol Stream students to plant at home!

We were pleased to work with DuPage County on this project, which aligns with our Strategic Plan’s environmental sustainability components. We look forward to watching the trees grow!
