TAKE A VIRTUAL TOUR
CRC-West opens its doors
CFI opened its third Crisis Resource Center, providing an additional 10 beds to serve those in psychiatric crisis as the need for 24/7 stabilization services continues to grow in the community.
CRC-West is at 69th Street and Silver Spring Avenue, and with CFI’s other CRCs, offers options to unnecessary and costly psychiatric hospitalizations and incarcerations.
The CRCs serve an increasing number of people experiencing a crisis precipitated by mental illness, trauma, substance use or the challenges of living in hard economic time; they are the only community based centers in Milwaukee County.
CFI’s CRCs are considered pioneers in the mental health care field, and they are committed to transforming how services are delivered to this at-risk population to produce better outcomes.

DIVERSITY ROUNDTABLE
Inclusivity takes on greater meaning
Creating inclusive workplaces has taken on greater meaning in the past year as employers and employees wrestle with racial, gender and other inequalities and inequities.

GOLD SEAL OF TRANSPARENCY
Proud to achieve this honor
The Milwaukee Center for Independence, whose corporate parent is CFI, has earned a Gold Seal of Transparency from Candid (formerly Guidestar).
This recognition shows our commitment to transparency by providing up-to-date financial information (IRS Form 990s) and other specific information which, in turn, gives funders and donors a meaningful way to understand our organization.
Prior to joining with the Foundation Center and GuideStar to become Candid, GuideStar was the world’s largest source of information about non-profit organizations. Candid’s goal is to provide unbiased information to help you -- our donors and key stakeholders - make educated decisions about non-profits and the work they do. MCFI is proud to achieve this level of transparency, and grateful to our donors, including the United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County for donation 1,300 masks!
