It is hard to believe we have nearly made it to the end of the 1st quarter! As we head into our last week of the quarter, we'd like to remind you that there is no school on Monday and no conferences during Fall Break. We hope our students will enjoy these days of rest! Please take a moment to browse the information presented below. As always, please reach out to us with questions and we look forward to another week!

A Closer Look
11th Grade PSAT On Campus

Our 11th Grade Scholars will be taking the PSAT on campus on Wednesday, October 14. Here are a few tips for a smooth & successful testing day!

  • Get a good night's sleep.
  • Eat a balanced breakfast.
  • Bring water and a snack.
  • Arrive on campus by 7:45am.
  • Go to the Library for your testing room assignment.

Email Ms. Priscilla O'Neill with any questions (priscilla.oneill@greatheartsirving.org).
Spirit Night at Panda Express

This Wednesday, October 14 will be our first Spirit Night of the year! See the flyer below for more information!
Students may wear any Great Hearts spirit wear shirt (including PE shirts, House shirts, & other Great Hearts events shirts) tucked into their school pants or skirt to show their School Spirit! Students still must wear uniform shoes and uniform sweaters.
Parent Volunteers Needed!

Our teachers are working incredibly hard to manage both distance learning and on-campus learning. We want to make sure we are supporting them and thanking them, and we have many opportunities for you to help us do this! Please take a moment to fill out the Parent Volunteer Survey and Teacher Lounge TLC Sign Up.

Upper School Conferences

We have decided to dedicate Fall Break (October 18-23) to well-earned and much needed rest and relaxation and will not hold conferences as we have in the past. To respect our teachers’ time and to accommodate the concerns of families with a student who has earned a C or lower in at least one class, optional Parent-Teacher conferences will occur over Zoom in the afternoons of Friday 10/30 and Friday 11/6. More information and sign-ups will be forthcoming.
Lunch with the Counselor

On Monday, October 26th, parents are invited to join our College Counselor, Ms. Priscilla O'Neill, for her monthly meeting about all things college. The topic for October is Financial Aid. After a short presentation, Ms. O'Neill will take questions.
For the calendar of college counseling events for the year and much more, please visit our College Counseling webpage.
