The funeral for Lord of Life member, Cecil Callihan, will be Saturday Sept. 17th at 3:30 at Lord of Life. Please pray for Janell and their children as they grieve the loss of their beloved husband and father.
There will be a reception to follow at the church.
✝ O God, whose mercies cannot be numbered: Accept our prayers on behalf of your servant Cecil and grant him an entrance into the land of light and joy, in the fellowship of your saints; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever, Amen. ✝

Have you ever been sitting in church and asked yourself the question, “Is this all that I’m supposed to be doing? Does God only want me to show up here every couple of weeks?”
If all we are doing for our faith is showing up for an hour on occasional Sundays, the whole experience can feel bland and insignificant. But God wants us to do more than be in a building once a week – God wants us to follow the life of Jesus.
We use the word “Discipleship” to describe the action of following Jesus in our everyday life. All month long, we will be wrestling with questions that try to help us understand what it means to be a follower of Jesus. You won't want to miss this opportunity to be called out of the pew and into the world as we get a deeper sense of what it means to choose a path of Discipleship.

TAKE YOUR FAITH BEYOND SUNDAY.
Weekly conversations with Pastor David Bauser, Faith Formation director Patrick Nazaroff, and author Elise McCarter.
This week on the podcast: We’ve all heard the old trope, '“Women are supposed to be subservient to men because God created men first and women to be the helpers.” But when was the last time we really looked at the word “helper”?
Does it mean what we think it means?
