BID Announces the Downtown Norwich Relief Fund

The Norwich Business Improvement District (BID) has created the Norwich Downtown Relief fund to provide assistance to local businesses and organizations that are within the boundaries of the BID district that are most affected by disruptions resulting from COVID-19. Many of the small businesses and organizations in the downtown district have had to close their doors indefinitely and we, like many others in the community, worry about their future.

Monies raised under the stewardship of BID will assist the businesses in these challenging times. Fostering a bright and vibrant downtown district is at the core of the BID’s mission – this fund will help our district, to the benefit of all who visit, work, and live in Norwich, now and in the months ahead. The Norwich Business Improvement District is a 501(c)3 and your contribution is tax deductible.

Businesses/organizations within the BID district will have the opportunity to apply for the funds raised via an application. The applications will then be reviewed and a one-time grant will be distributed based on the criteria provided. Please contact our BID Administrator for the application or with any questions at bid@frontiernet.net.

In support of this, The Norwich Business Improvement District will match funds donated up to $15,000. All donations for the fund will go directly to the businesses/organizations. There are zero administration fees. Additionally, each of our board members have also made a personal donation to the Norwich Downtown Relief fund. We all feel passionately about ensuring our downtown not only survives, but is able to thrive after this pandemic event has concluded.

Anyone wishing to donate can make checks out to:
