Weekend Lineup
Sweet Home is rockin'

Saturday night and Sunday afternoon dances are back at Music City Sweet Home! And from the looks of the dancers, y'all are glad about that. This Saturday, two bands will provide the music - Stephanie Ross & The Southern Drive Band and the Justin Cooper Band. Then on Sunday, Blue Denim will be in the house.

If you want to polka on, Texas Legacy Czech Band will be at the American Legion Hall in Wallis Saturday night.

The Not Just Oom-Pah accordion workshops start next week, kicked off by a live stream concert by Alicia Baker Straka on Monday from 8-9 pm. Have you registered for the workshops?  Click here to learn more and register.

Another way to celebrate National Accordion Month is to sign up for Legendary Accordion produced by Terry Cavanagh. Every morning from June 22-26, you'll receive an email  that spotlights one of these experts:
Alex Meixner: "Living and Breathing Passion"
Danny Jerabek: "For the Love Of It"
Carl Finch: "The Master's View"
Michael Bridge: "The Accordion Wizard"
Ted Lange: "The Consummate Musician"
You'll get an insider's personal view of what makes them tick, how they approach music and performance, and musical performance tips for accordion as well as a performance from them.

WEEKLY LAUGH

Thanks Shane for sharing this poem by Carl Roesler

AS CHILDREN, WE CAN'T COMPREHEND
OR FULLY REALIZE
THE MEANING OF A FATHER'S LOVE,
HOW TENDER AND HOW WISE.
HIS PATIENCE AND HIS GUIDANCE,
HIS HELPFUL, CARING WAYS.
THE SPECIAL, THOUGHTFUL THINGS HE DOES
TO BRIGHTEN UP THE DAYS.
YEARS GO BY BEFORE WE KNOW
THE DEPTH OF HIS CONCERN,
THE LOVE IN HIS PROTECTIVENESS--
IT TAKES SO LONG TO LEARN.
BUT AS WE GROW, WE UNDERSTAND,
FOR WE LOOK BACK AND SEE
THROUGH OLDER EYES AND WISER HEARTS.
HIS LOVE AND LOYALTY.
IT'S THESE AND MANY OTHER THINGS
THAT MAKE HIM GROW MORE DEAR,
MORE ADMIRED, AND MORE APPRECIATED
WITH EVERY PASSING YEAR.
