IFA Compliance Update
HOME INCOME AND RENT LIMITS
HOME and NHTF limits were released yesterday with an effective date of July 1, 2020. The limits have been posted on the IFA Compliance web page under the Current Income & Rent Limits section.

HOME/NHTF RENT APPROVAL PROCESS
With the effective date of the new income & rent limits being July 1, 2020, the HOME rent approval documents will be due to IFA by the end of business on Monday Aug., 17, 2020. Any documentation received after that date will not be eligible for a rent increase, if requested. HOME/NHTF rent approval documentations can be found on the IFA Compliance web page.

MONITORING
Thank you to the properties who have allowed our third-party vendor, Safe Building, to continue to conduct physical inspection safely throughout the past three months. Now that things are opening back up, we will need to start scheduling inspections so that we can get back on track by the end of the year.

While we are firmly committed to ensuring the health and well-being of all Iowans who live in the LIHTC, HOME and NHTF projects we monitor across the state, we cannot indefinitely postpone our monitoring responsibilities. Please know that Safe Building has implemented measures to limit contact with tenants and site staff to ensure both their health and that of our inspector, Ron Frazee.

When notified of an impending inspection, all units must be give 24-hour notice and may also be advised that they may request not to have their unit inspected if they have legitimate health concerns, but should be made aware of the extra safety precautions put in place by our vendor.

ACCESS TO COL
The long discussed and (often postponed) migration to the new Certification Portal (CP) from our current Certification On-Line (COL) system is scheduled to occur this Friday, June 19 and go through Tuesday, June 23, 2020. The system will not be available starting at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 19. If you have data to enter, please enter it by 1:30 p.m. June 19, or wait until next week.
