Stone Mountain Elementary’s recent personalized engraved brick fundraiser was created to help fund a K-6 Core Literacy program and supply students with enVision math workbooks. 168 bricks were sold which will go in front of the school with the possibility of adding additional bricks in the future.
From SME PTO: “Selling bricks was an unknown approach for us. We asked our families to donate any amount of money via checks or straight donations via myschoolbucks, or buy bricks at three different price points. We knew our goal was hefty ($75k) so we had a $250, $500 and $1,000 level. We had a banner that showed progress every few days and I think that really gave people a visual that people were behind it.
This type of fundraiser is a relatively low cost risk if chapters want to try it. We figured if we didn’t sell many bricks, we could do a small path (with buying blank bricks to fill in areas) or line around flower planters. I think the options are flexible depending on how many are sold."
SME thanks their generous community for helping them meet their goal!
