Greetings!
I know that February 14th is usually referred to as Valentine’s Day—I also know that it passed two weeks ago! However, I’ve always referred to it as Love and Friendship Day. And, really, I’m inclined to let it last all month long, heck, 365 days a year!
Of course, there are all types of love: romantic, platonic, familial, brotherly, agape, and let us not forget self-love.
It’s not very often I’ve had a partner in my life to celebrate a romantic Valentine’s Day. But even so, friends for me are the glue that holds my life together, the family I don’t have, who add to the richness and meaning in my life. It seems that my romantic partners come and go (😊) but friends remain, are a lot more constant. My friends truly are my family of choice.
No matter what is going on in life, real friends accompany and support us on the journey. They share the joy of a pup joining the family or a milestone in their career; the sorrow of a loved one making their transition or some other personal loss, the enthusiasm of an adventurous trip, the so-called “little” aspects of life, the major occasions, and everything in between. We help one another in a myriad of ways, and we make memories along the way to hold in our heart whether we be near or far.
I am grateful for and thank my friends for their love, caring, kindness, honesty, laughter, wisdom, support, and so much more.
That's what friends are for.
Listen below to a great song about friends sung by Dionne Warwick, Elton John, Gladys Knight, and Stevie Wonder (who plays a mean harmonica).

The Power of Love
|
|
There is no difficulty that enough love will not conquer,
No disease that enough love will not heal,
No door that enough love will not open,
No gulf that enough love will not bridge,
No wall that enough love will not throw down,
No sin that enough love will not redeem.
It makes no difference how deeply seated may be the trouble, how hopeless the outlook, how muddled the tangle, how great the mistake–
A sufficient realization of love will dissolve it all.
If only you could love enough, you would be the happiest and most powerful being in the world.

People Making a Difference
The Heart of America
Tim Hennessy said he was going to title his Facebook post “the America I know,” until his wife suggested “The Heart of America.”
The post was in reference to when a Texas grocery store lost power during the recent dire winter weather and what happened next. Shoppers were allowed to leave without paying for their supplies, people helped one another in the parking lot, and various other acts of kindness followed.

The greatest love of all is with our self. Enjoy The Greatest Love of All, sung by Jane Oliver (who sang with Johnny Mathis “The Last Time I Felt Like This,” the theme for the 1978 film “Same Time, Next Year” and which was nominated for a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award).
Blessings and cyber hugs,

You, Me, and Spirit
I was a devout atheist until about 30 years ago when I "came to believe" in a Power greater than myself. Thanks to hearing the novel idea (well, at least it was to me!) that one could choose their own concept of God--and name too (Spirit, The Great Mystery, All That Is, etc.)--and the workings of synchronicity, I embarked on a new way of thinking, a new way of living, a new way of being in the world and with others. It impacted all aspects of my life and relationships.
Since that time of commencing my conscious spiritual journey, I have endeavored to remember The Presence in all that is, all whom I meet, and all that I do -- including working with clients in my own business and in the corporate world. I strive to be of service and to nurture the human spirit in all environments.
