Mayor Randy Gorham presented Police Communications Supervisor, Lisa Jernigan, with the official certificate of proclamation declaring April 11-17, 2021 as City of Jacksonville Public Safety Telecommunicators Week during the April City Council Meeting.
Chief Joe Williams announced the promotion of Corporal Cody Rodriguez during the April City Council Meeting. Chief Williams described Corporal Rodriguez as a valuable asset to the City of Jacksonville Police Department.
JACKSONVILE ANIMAL SHELTER
FREE ADOPTON WEEK WAS A SUCCESS!
The shelter adopted 19 animals during this week long event. Thank you to everyone who came out and adopted from our shelter.

ELECTION RESULTS ARE IN!
Randy Gorham was
re-elected as Mayor of the City of Jacksonville.
Hubert Robinson retained his District 1 seat on the Jacksonville City Council, running unopposed.
Tim McRae retained his District 3 seat on the Jacksonville City Council, running unopposed.
Two students in the Gifted and Talented Program at Jacksonville ISD shared their independent research project with John Taylor at our Vanishing Texana Museum.
Ethan Dart, 9, and Daylin Mares, 11, met with Mr. Taylor, who is a retired JISD teacher and an experienced coin collector himself. The three coin collectors learned more about the other collectors' coins as well as were shown the coins Mr. Taylor has on display at the museum.

The Vanishing Texana Museum is located at 302 S. Bolton and is open Thursday - Saturday 11am - 4pm.
Love's Lookout Volunteer Luncheon
The loyal volunteers at Love's Lookout were treated to a picnic lunch at the Visitor's Center on Friday, April 23rd.
