Each Wednesday and Sunday throughout the COVID-19 pandemic currently gripping our nation and world, our Sisters share anecdotes and spiritual tidings with our families, friends, alumnae and benefactors. It is our hope that these messages offer solace in trying times.
"Do we know the peace and security of the Good Shepherd who watches over us? We are members of Jesus' flock, and we have nothing to fear."
-- Sister Mary Martha Zammatore
Thanks and Praise for Caregivers Everywhere
Several of our Sisters stepped out of St. Francis Center for Renewal in Bethlehem, Pa., on the evening of May 3 to take part in Bells Across Pennsylvania. Residents statewide were asked to rings bells for three straight minutes in gratitude to the caregivers of those affected with COVID-19. Pictured are (from left) Sisters Barbara Brown, M. Virginelle Makos, Barbara DeStefano, Marguerite Stewart and Anita Kuchera.
Finding Faith
on Common Ground
Several of our Sisters in eastern Pennsylvania are members of the Bethlehem Interfaith Group (BIG), a gathering of 30 members of various faiths who find blessings and common ground by sharing with one another.

The group hosted a special Hour of Prayer on May 7, which included prayer for such pressing topics as welcoming and accepting each other, essential workers, hunger and food insecurity, families and children, justice, caring for creation, peace in the face of war and global conflict, and, of course, hope.

Sister M. Virginelle Makos shared the video (above) of this special hour so that, even from the comfort of your own home, you can join our Sisters and people of all faiths in prayer for these important issues that affect us all.

Hope from
the Heavens
Sisters Jo Goolish and Yolanda Escamilla watched along with the rest of San Antonio, Texas, on Monday as Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller soared overhead in a 1940s-era aircraft to bless the city. Dubbed Mission Hope , the two-hour flyover was intended to inspire healing and unity as the city slowly reopens in the midst of COVID-19. Masses will resume there on Saturday.
