Sunday Fun Days

Every Sunday in October, 1:00 - 3:00 PM



Stop in for some family fun every Sunday! We will have different activities each week for you to explore together. Families with at least one child grade 7 and younger. Drop-In. No registration required.

Art Teacher Amy - Black Cat

Wednesday, 10/5, 3:00 - 4:00 PM


Paint a Halloween-themed Black Cat with Art Teacher Amy! Learn about painting techniques in watercolors and bring home your completed painting to decorate for the holiday. No experience necessary. 

 

October Big Day @ Wertheim National Wildlife Refuge

Saturday, 10/8, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM


Big Days are a 24-hour opportunity to celebrate birds near and far. Join Ms. Hillary to count and celebrate the local birds of our community at Wertheim National Wildlife Refuge. No registration required.

Super Soccer Stars

Saturday, 10/8, 2:00 - 2:45 PM


Super Soccer Stars is a fun and educational soccer class to explore the world of physical activity using soccer skills. Will develop players’ technique, game insight, and fitness! All equipment will be provided.

3D Print Workshop

Monday, 10/3, 4:00 - 5:00 PM


Hang out with Mr. Keith and Ms. Sam to learn the basics of 3D modeling with Tinkercad. 15 Herkimer St, Mastic. This is a drop-in program.

Gaming Café 

Tuesday, 10/4, 6:00 - 7:00 PM


Play board games and Jackbox games while hanging out with your friends. 15 Herkimer St, Mastic. Registration is not required.



Pamper Yourself

Wednesday, 10/5, 3:00 - 4:00 PM


Create your own spa-related goodies with Ms. Sam. While supplies last. 15 Herkimer St, Mastic. This is a drop-in program.


Puzzle Night - Virtual

Thursday, 10/6, 5:30 - 6:30 PM


Complete a virtual jigsaw puzzle every Thursday with Ms. Erica! The link to each week’s puzzle will be posted in our discord. Registration is not required.

Home Improvement Series: The Site Your House Sits on 

Saturday, 10/8, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM


Join us for the first class in a monthly series to learn about how to make your own repairs and home improvements. In ‘The Site Your House Sits on’ Brian Schnee of KL Home Inspections will teach you: drainage of precipitation; proper landscaping; effects of groundwater and water table; correct installation of retaining walls; and correct installation of cement for your property. Please bring your questions and photos. 

Halloween Costume Swap

Saturday, 10/15, 12:00 – 4:00 PM


Swap your Halloween costume for a “new to you” costume at our Halloween Costume Swap! Donate clean, gently used costumes (all sizes welcome) and swap for a “new to you” costume. Don’t need a costume? You’re welcome to donate without an obligation to exchange. Don’t have a costume to swap? Come in anyway. While supplies last. Costume Donation Drop-off: Saturday, October 1 – Friday, October 14 at Mastic Rec. Center. 

Beginner Painting: Pumpkin Wall Hanging 

Monday, 10/17, 6:00 – 8:30 PM


Join painting instructor Linda to create this adorable pumpkin wall hanging.  All materials are supplied by the instructor.  Materials fee: $4.00 (non-refundable). Registration begins Tuesday, October 4. 15 Herkimer St., Mastic.


Beginner Sketching and Drawing 

Tuesday, 10/18, 6:00 – 7:30 PM


Join art instructor Jennifer Lucas to learn the basics of sketching and drawing. Materials needed for class: HB, 2B, and 4B pencils, a kneaded eraser, a small clear ruler, and a sketchbook or sketchpad. Registration begins Monday, October 3.
