Michelle G. Rouch

Michelle Rouch has 30 years of engineering experience working for the Department of Defense. She served for 20 years as lead systems engineer on major weapon systems at Raytheon Missiles Systems, covering product lines for the Missile Defense Agency, U.S. Navy, Air Force and the Army.
Rouch serves as a technical advisor on all aspects of generating reports for the customer to quantify the impacts to cost, schedule, and technical performance on several major military acquisition programs by offering the program office insight to engineering design vulnerabilities. She possesses a strong technical background in program management and systems engineering activities from Risk Reduction, Engineering & Manufacturing Development (EMD), Transition to Production, Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP), to Full Rate Production (FRP) phases.
Rouch is also self-taught artist with over 37 years of experience combines her technical knowledge to create unique pieces of aerospace subjects. Her artwork promotes science and engineering and continues to develop new techniques to redefine aerospace art with a contemporary approach.
She is committed in giving back to the community by contributing to Boy Scouts of America, Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), Kiddie Hawk Air Academy, Wright Flight, University of Arizona, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Youth On Their Own, and many more organizations and museums. For the past 8 years her artwork has raised over $150,000 to support kids interested in Aviation.
Growing up in Kettering, Ohio for 23 years Rouch has a deep appreciation for Aviation History. She is an Aluminist with Wright State University, where she earned her first degree in Electrical Engineering and later earned a Master’s degree in Information Systems Engineering from Western International University in Arizona.
Rouch serves as Chair for American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics (AIAA) Tucson Section and has earned first place for several years in AIAA Precollege Outreach Award for outstanding STEM K-12 Outreach Program, and offers public speaking for her STEM activities. She is a member of AIAA Society & Aerospace Technology Integration and Outreach Committee (SAT IOC), the Founder & Co-chair of the Tucson-Chapter of International Association of Astronomical Artists (IAAA), American Society of Aviation Artists (ASAA) Professional Artist, appointed Tucson Public Arts Council Board Member for District 4, was the Artist Judge for Arizona Congressional District 2 and served for 4 consecutive years. Rouch was nominated for the Arizona Governor’s Arts Awards 2014-2016 and still serves as Congressional Advisor for Youth Outreach Program for Boy Scout Troop 739.
