American Legion Post 356 Auxiliary
donates $2800
Our footprint of care is from Pensacola to Panama City and this awesome group of auxiliary in Lynn Haven recognize that almost 25% of our families come from the Panama City area. Each year they host a dinner with an auction, raising money for our mission and this January, they came together in a mighty way, after enduring a tough two years themselves since Hurricane Michael devistated their area. We love the visit each year, like a family reunion and the cake was such a nice touch!
The St. Joe Foundation generously blesses our mission with a partnership grant to help with overflow hotels. April Wilkes, the Executive Director toured our home in February and made the presentation.
All You Need is Love and a Good Teammate featuring Jennifer Nelson = Big Night
In February, Fisher House of the Emerald Coast Inc hosted a caregiver spotlight event at the Air Force Armament Museum featuring Jennifer Nelson, military spouse of wounded warrior Capt. Nate Nelson, USAF, Ret. Family members and professional caregivers were invited and honored for their role in offering hope and healing, courtesy of the White-Wilson Community Foundation Inc. As event plans were finalized, an unrelated inquiry read more here... .

Special Thanks!
Our friends at The White-Wilson Community Foundation Inc. provided 50 complimentary tickets to caregivers in our community.
These folks host a Chili Competition each year and this year's was hosted on January 29. Great fun, and please note, someone said "Guess I need a bigger car..."

Always Room in our Inn - Thanks to YOU!

Our home remains open, caring for our military families and when greater care calls for a family to travel, we go too, figuratively speaking. Families are placed in partner hotels at our expense, thanks to our generous community. We have a family from Hurlburt with a baby in the neonatal unit at Sacred Heart right now. #loveisgoodmedicine
For nearly a decade, EXOS has supported U.S. special operations forces with tactical training programs. Working with special operations personnel, EXOS has helped hundreds of service members return from devastating injuries through the Accelerated Return to Duty program.  More about EXOS here .

Our Fisher House on Eglin supports these warriors and this program in partnership with SOF Missions and Portofino Island Resort for their temporary lodging during this treatment. We will be hosting a warrior, coming in this weekend for his stay. This happens because of YOU our generous community.

Donate Beanie Babies - Meet Ms. Gail
Ms.Gail owns the cutest antique boutique, Country Cottage in Mariana (2813 Hwy 71) and learned of our campaign to collect Beanie Babies to bless military members. She had a lifetime collection of new, some very rare babies and wanted to say thanks in a big way. We picked them up from the local Veterans Center. We love this network of friends of friends.....all serving our military families as one big extended family. Beanie Babies may be dropped off Monday through Thursday, 8-2 at our off base office, 126 NE Eglin Parkway.
Shop at Winn Dixie - Buy a Community Bag

Want to help with Groceries right now?
When your loved one is hospitalized, the kindness of someone else shopping and preparing food for you cannot be overstated.

Will you consider making a recurring monthly gift to help keep the Fisher House stocked? Donors like you who pledge sustaining support of $25/month or more are making a difference for Veteran families. Your gift will:

  • Fill the refrigerator and pantry with nutritious and comforting food
  • Supplement cleaning supplies now in greater demand for public health reasons
  • Provide single-use cups and plates to reduce exposure to germs from others as an added precaution

It's that easy to make a difference today... because a family's love is good medicine

Cookies and Kindness - Comfort Food
While Cookies and Kindness and preparing meals for our guests has changed recently, these two future leaders still wanted to make a difference. The Destin Woman's Club continued to bless with gift cards and boxes of fresh fruits and vegetablles from area churches were also donated.
Living Faith in Niceville included our guests as part of this community donation!

HUGE thank you to our Dream Team for making today possible!! 500 boxes were freely given out to the community and we enjoyed every minute of it! Blessed to be a blessing!! Here is their FUN Facebook video!
