SPRING SALE UPDATE
The Spring Sale has been postponed for safety concerns and will go into hibernation and will hopefully emerge a Summer Sale later this year.
For the health and safety of our customers and staff, the Spring Sale has been rescheduled for a time to be determined later in 2020. We look forward to hosting a fun event with great deals and even better company.
Words From Sandy and Nick

We want to assure you that we take the health and well-being of our community, customers, and associates very seriously. Like you, we're closely monitoring the quickly developing effects of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, we will practice social distancing. We have temporarily closed our office/ warehouse to walk-ins to protect and care for those who work with us, our customers, and the public.

We will miss seeing all the friendly faces but we're still open online where service remains uninterrupted, and will respond to emails in the order in which they are received. You can also find us on our social channels to keep updated with any changed in our status.

We are all in this together. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and will follow guidance from public health officials and government agencies, so we can continue to support our customers and communities as needed.

For more information about COVD-19 and what you can do to keep healthy and safe, visit the Centers for Disease Control or your local health department's website.
Things are Charging Up in the Lab

It is very exciting to see the lab coming together. We recently got the blanket testing machine and the glove testing machine in.

The gloves testing machine has twelve positions. Which means it can test six pairs of gloves at a time, or six total sleeves. Keeping in mind that all tested items have to be the same class per testing cycle.

The blanket tester can do four blankets at a time. Only a few more things to take care of before we start the first batch of testing.
If you and your company are interested in utilizing Hawkins' Testing Lab for re-certification of your rubber goods and insulated tools, please contact eric@hawkinssafety.com for more information.
What's New In The Social Scene!
Social networking is a huge part of spreading information these days. It helps keep customers informed about whats going on, and lately...a lot has been going on in the world!

Steve and Eric had a chance to visit the Maine Central Power Testing Lab and spend a day with Brian and Conrad and see how they have been doing things there. It was a fantastic experience and you can tell from the looks on their faces, they had a good time.

Hawkins has continued to fulfill safety equipment orders to our customers, and the lab operations are constantly being developed and iterated on as we prepare for the grand opening.

Happy Spring!

We're all certainly sharing life altering times currently. It's imperative however that we're not sharing in close proximity.
Checking on elders and those who are unable to mobilize is imperative, however, your health and well-being are also essential. Voice call, if appropriate. If you're picking up groceries or medications for these folks, let them know you're leaving these items just outside their door to eliminate close contact.

There are a lot of uncertainties surrounding this hideous virus lurking among us, but one thing seems quite clear:
prevent the spread, stay home! The more people who are out and about, the more momentum this virus has.

I believe positive invites positive. Whether it's practiced in thought or through behavior.
Ignore negative thoughts. Limit the amount of time spent watching the news, and read a lighthearted book, watch, listen or follow your favorite comedian, take a walk, take a neighbor's dog for a walk. Smile. Laugh. Enjoy nature.

As we continue to navigate our uncertainties together, Hawkins is committed to serving our valued customers in whatever creative capacity we can. We pledge to immediately communicate any disruption in services, or any delays in materials to ensure your expectations are met.
Or better yet, exceeded.

Be well. Have a safe April!
~Vicki

Staying Healthy While Staying Home
First and foremost, we hope everyone is doing their best to enforce social distancing . This means maintaining a state of quarantine whenever possible. The more we all participate together, the more effective the efforts will be to mitigate the impact of this situation.

We understand being isolated can pose some challenges and when the mind is left to wander, it can end up running wild. Finding activities to keep you busy in your down time will help make your time in quarantine more rewarding. A great time to work on your creative side.

However, eating healthy should be a focus for everyone as well. Being at home, you may find yourself snacking more, and indulging as your stockpiles are a mere hop, skip, and a jump to the next room. This can be challenging to resist. Eating well helps keep you healthy and maintain a strong immune system. Remember, your body becomes what you put into it.

Implementing a routine of physical activity helps reduce stress as well. I like to practice at least 30 minutes of activity a day that gets my heart rate going. Of course this will vary depending on the person, but going for a walk, stationary bike, treadmill, at home workouts, yoga, just a nice stretching session, all these activities are great options for your daily routine. Even working on controlling your breathing while you stretch can be very good for you. Whatever the case, I hope you find a way to keep active and still maintain your social distancing.

Stay Healthy and Stay Safe!
~Eric
